Hello everyone! Welcome to the Quest Club forum, where everything Quest Club related is primarily discussed and taken care of! This thread shall act as an introduction to Quest Club as a whole while going over most questions one might have about it!

-= What is Quest Club? =-

Quest Club is a weekly social event we do in the PureZC Discord where we get together in a VC and play/discuss the Quest that the community chooses to spotlight. We have dedicated text threads for discussion, both on the forum itself and the Discord. Leadership has been passed around a bit, however, the primary host of the VCs is currently myself. Should I be unable to VC myself, I ask either Russ or somebody else to take over for that day.

-= How are Quests chosen? =-

At the end of every month, we pull from one of our 5 curators + the community a list of 6 quests to vote on. Listed in each poll will be a brief description of the quest, why the curator would like it in Quest Club, and the estimated playtime of the quest for the sake of pacing. Each curator has 6 quests to poll from, with a minimum of at least one quest from the community list to pull from. Occasionally, the entire community list will be pulled from instead, resulting in everyone's list getting polled twice a year.

The order of curation is as follows:

1) Community
2) Deedee
3) Eddy
4) Shane
5) Russ
6) Myself

I have contingencies in place in the event that there is an issue with a curator's list, and I shall deal with those as they come.

-= The Quest Chosen is too short for Quest Club, what do? =-

A system I currently have in place is one where if virtually everyone is already done with Quest Club, then I will instead pull from the shorter quests that have been suggested by the community. The exact process for doing so is up in the air for these "Quest Club X.5s", but that is something I have to figure out as more of them happen. If there are none, a QC VC will still be hosted, but will generally just be an unfocused hangout of a variety of topics depending on the day.

-= Quest Club Schedule =-

Generally speaking, we host these events in the weekend, typically on Saturday, but if attendance is low, we push it to Sunday. An exception is made if the Quest is too long to beat by playing it once a week, in which case, Quest Club will be hosted on both days of the weekend. Specific times will be posted in the #event-announcements channel, and if you'd like to be pinged for that, you can either give yourself the @Quest Club Announcements role, or request it from a Staff member if you don't know how to give it to yourself.

-= What if I can't play the quest during the VCs? =-

That's perfectly fine! Quest Club is an entirely social event, and you're not only not required to play them in the VCs, you're not necessarily required to play the entry at all! Whatever makes you comfortable, do that, and if you're the type who prefers to beat the quest in the first week on your own time, this is by no means an issue. The forum and discord threads partially exist as well so that those who are out of sync with the other players still have a place to discuss the quest, and it's perfectly fine to just join VCs to spectate if that's what you'd like to do!

-= I have a criticism or suggestion about an aspect of Quest Club =-

Do share! This is still something I'm trying to figure out as we go along, and if there's mistakes made, I'd like to know more about them to see if either I agree, or if it's related to something I have an answer for.

-= Last Second Requests =-

A couple things, actually. Firstly, I would highly suggest anybody who has ideas for Quest Club to please submit to the Quest Suggestion dropbox. At the rate we're currently going, if it's not updated at all, then the community list will only get smaller and smaller.

When suggesting a quest, I'd highly suggest that you put both the reason that you'd like to see the quest played in Quest Club, as well as, if you can, an estimate of the playtime of the quest. We actually need more 1-2 hour quests in the pile in particular in the event that we continue to get shorter quests for QC as well, and it'd very much be appreciated if you could.
