During the past month, I've been working a lot on getting the overworld into a more finalized state. This included revamping several of the overworld palettes, reworking some of the screens, fixing custom tiles to make them more closely follow classic style, and adding more details and secrets. The screenshots on the project page have been updated to match these new changes.

My favorite change to the overworld was making the forest areas stand out more from each other by adding more details and reworking the palettes:

I've also been working on interiors during the past month. I designed the aesthetics for the village houses and the 7 different cave types, and I'm currently about half way done with making all the house interiors in the village. Making all the caves won't be happening until after all the dungeon items have been made since I will be putting puzzles in the caves that can be solved to get heart pieces, magic containers, etc.

Last, I've also started working on the aesthetics for the dungeons, but those are still WIP. Now that the overworld is pretty much finished, I will be starting dungeon design soon.

That's about it for this update, lol.

I will be starting dungeon design soon.

Wait, am I missing something, or what happened to the dungeons you'd already done?

Oh uhhhh, there was a single dungeon that I was working on like 6 months ago which I ended up scrapping, lol. The replacement dungeon that I'm working on is still going to have a similar theme (that being the town waterworks), but other than that it'll be quite different. I wasn't particularly happy with the previous design of the dungeon, and the old version doesn't fit the new story flow. (not going into more depth with that since that would be spoilers, lol)

So I guess to clarify, I will be starting to design the dungeons that are actually going to be in the release version of the quest. ;p
