Whoa, this is pretty neat. It's a little hard to tell where the floor is, but I like the volcanic atmosphere. I feel isolated.

It was close, but I decided to go with Russ, since I feel his shot deserves to not lose against that insufferable troll, Joelmacool.

Russ - I honestly don't know much about older games with a style like this and can't compare, but I certainly like what I see here. The color for the rock-background is really nice and a great base, the mix of orange, red and green is beautiful and pleasant to the eye.

JMC - Junior Mashing Championship? Seriously, I have no idea.

TheRock - nearly voted here, I somewhat really like it. I am afraid it might be only nostalgia.

nicklegends - not a huge fan of the hedge, but my only real complain is the palette, the intense green and yellow are not nice to look at.

nicklegends: the layout is great and everything really feels like it has a sense of purpose.  i still adore the shadow effect.  yeah yeah it's ultimately super simple, but it makes the lighting feel so much more real; just that little touch makes it feel like all the light parts are really sunlit.  somehow the intense colors actually *work* here because of that and i'm normally not a fan.  unfortunately i cannot in good conscience vote for this as it glorifies cheating (i voted for it)

 

Russ: wayyyyy better than last week's.  that lighting is actually super cool in motion.  i like the fire coming out of the vents and the general aesthetic concept, the contrast between the soft brown and the bright green/orange/red (if anyone tells you a dark lava jungle isn't supposed to exist then fuck em)

Joelmacool - What a majestic piece of art you brought forth here. I really love the wide palette of colours you have here, definitely looks museum-worthy I'd say.

 

TheRock - What I said about Joel's shot applies here too, except for the colour comment. I especially love the massive black void in the centre of the screen, really gives some insight into the dark themes the screen portrays, showing such emptiness and loneliness.

 

nicklegends - Pretty nice shot you have, the shadows look pretty neat and the palette looks very nice too (is this custom made?). I see Link is using Cheat 4 there, trying to get through the hedges

 

Russ - Now this is certainly something interesting. Never thought I would ever see a volcanic jungle setting in ZC lol. Pretty overall good effort with the screen, definitely love the contrast between the left and right sides. Good job.

nicklegends- The yellow and green is a little too fluorescent in my eyes. Is Link trapped between two unwalkable hedge barriers?

 

Russ- Dark lava jungle makes sense to me, there are volcanoes in Hawaii.
