Custom add quite a bit of charm to quests and can help make them stand out.

Having a well designed custom subscreen can add a lot of identity and personality to your quest, more so than one might think. I'd say go for it but only if you can manage it. It does pay off in the end if you do it right.

Custom, definitely. I'very gotten pretty good at making custom subscreens, so I'd be happy to advise you, and give some suggestions.
