Hi everyone!

I'm now testing NTCC, since everything except L9 is finished. I'm having a good time doing so and not many bugs so far. While busy playing I thought I'd might as well make some screenshots of random screens:

Soon judasrising! First I play through the quest myself, preventing any game breaking bugs.

This looks quite good.

 

I'm curious about the map in the 5th screenshot - it seems clearly custom drawn, but is it a spacebar map or a subscreen dropdown map? The instruction "down = exit" makes me think it's an actual in-game room, plus the black bar across the top is same size as the passive subscreen on all the other in-game shots, so does that mean it's only accessible from certain rooms throughout the quest?

 

Also, interesting to note the size of the buildings in the 1st shot. A number of quests I look at have very small overworld-map buildings, but when you go through the door, you end up in a giant mansion. Are you trying to build the houses more to scale to match the size of the interiors?

The map can be viewed on certain screens indeed. The fifth screen is the map viewed on the 4th screen (using that sign post). I put extreme much effort in drawing it, so I hope you like it. I made it in the Zquest editor.

 

About the buildings: no, some smaller houses might have the same interior. It's something I though about many times, but I concluded that ZC isn't the right place to think about realistic interiors.

So far everything works quite well. Not even a major game breaking bug, mostly stupid enemies that spawn in mountains and stuff.

Amazing i love the colours used in the last picture reminds me of Spooky shed from another quest.

Geez, this is just reminding me that I need to finish NT:AEL at some point...  Especially since I lost my file before, now I have to get it again, and restart from the beginning.

 

Also loving the screenies: never could get through Stone and Chill, though; I got lost.  

 

Finally, and a bit off-topic: Speaking of Seasoned Blood, when will we get to look foward to BoaB DX?  Just curious... lol

About NTAEL: It's not required to have played it before to really understand the story of this game, since NTAEL had no real story. However you can play it and feel nostalgic when you meet old characters in NTCC, plus you might understand more about the story in NTCC, or get more hints.

 

About progress on this: I need to test L7 + L8 and make L9 and a few sidequests, then it's done. It's definitely getting released this year.

 

About Ballad of a Bloodline DX: I think I'll work on that when NTCC is done. I'm passively working on it by watching MeleeWizard's LP of BB. 

 

Anyways, now is the time I can get much done. Once my vacation is over, things will presumably go very slow once more.
