As the first week of 2016 has past, I have decided to release a major update involving my quest, The 3 Forces 2: Revenge of Death Link. Realizing I haven't posted anything on it since my big change (Which I will get to), I feel as if I needed to post something about it. While it may have seem this quest has been dead...it's actually been fully living. Many things have changed, and added. Ideas have flown into my brain, and things are look great for this year. This update may not be as long as I wish it would be, but I have a lot of things planned for it. I will be covering 4 main topics (If you scrolled down you already know) below:

-Story
-Quest Changes
-Important Dates
-Beta-Testing and other minor things

I know the minor details won't have much, so don't expect much but beta-testing in that topic. Anyways, for those who have been excited for this quest, it's still in the making! And it's not going slowly either, there's just A LOT to cover in this quest. Without further ado, I present to you these things (Sorry it's not as cool as most where hoping for):

Story

When you see story, you probably expect a story, right? Well in this case, wrong. I'm actually going to be EXPLAINING the story without spoiling really anything. The beginning of the game will feature a story explaining the events of The 3 Forces. To be honest, this is more to minimize people from having to go play a pointless quest to learn about a crappy ending that isn't exactly how Death Link is truly introduced now. So the beginning cut-scenes summarize the events The 3 Forces while explaining how Death Link was introduced and how Link got to the Land of Mokuto (Pronounced Muh-koo-toe). After that you go through some gameplay, and in between dungeons you will be seeing some minor cut-scenes that may seem smaller, but will be valuable to making the story of this quest grand. So of course, you head through the quest and such, making your way to the final areas with Death Link. Now this is where I can't reveal anything else, mainly because it is big. The ending will have a huge ending story with a lot of unexpected events that definitely will make this quest much better.

So now that is where I must stop. As you can see, there will be a story, but to know you're going to have to wait till the release of the quest to find out what mysterious there are to solve. Especially when it comes to know who Death Link truly is. As these past months have passed, I've grown to know who, and even what Death Link is, and how he has changed from being a 2-D character, so an epic 3-D character. His backstory, and even his future story is just amazing to think about. Funny thing is, I'm the only one who knows all this, so just know there's something big coming out of this quest!

I have explained all this, and not reminded everyone the main point of this quest. You must travel through four main provinces (or areas) in the Land of Mokuto to find the palaces and collect Mokuto's Four Sacred Items. These items are the only way to climb up Mokuto's central tower, which has now become Death Link's evil base. That's the whole goal of the quest, but there are of course many...many other things to do with it!

Quest Changes

The past few months have been amazing with this quest. While you may know part of how the story has improved, there's tons of other stuff that has made this quest better. Especially the overworld and dungeon layouts. I've done some extreme editing the past few months with this quest, and now the overworld has became a 16x8 Zelda 1-like overworld! Thing is, for how many items, heart pieces, and other minor things there are in the quest, it has forced me to make EVERY SINGLE in the overworld have some type of secret. Whether it be just a warp tile, it still is considered a secret. Of course that's not on every screen, sometimes there will be heart pieces, rupees, or item cellars. Then there's times when there are both! (For those who did not know, the overworld was originally 5 maps: the center being 8x8 map, and the other four a 12x8 overworld. So yes a big change on that)

My dungeons also will be changing with layout ways as well! Originally most of the dungeons where Zelda-1 single screen type, which of course isn't bad, but isn't as interesting though. That's why now they will have big rooms and the occasional small room, but mostly big rooms. With this improvement, puzzles can be easier to make, and also will make exploration more fun and easier! I also added the feature of having the space-bar map. This first of all will show how cool the dungeon looks, and also make exploration even more entertaining! Just know that there will be not a secret on every screen though, that's just for the main overworld only.

The subscreen will also be having some minor changes in regards to the addition and subtraction of some items. The main difference with it will be that there is another box that will contain potions. Three different potions are in this game: Magic, Health, and Both (The usual for 3 potion quests). Fortunately you don't need a letter or bottle to give to the shop keeper.

One last thing to make sure you are all clear of. Quivers, bomb bags, and wallets will be the only major item in shops to buy. Hearts, arrows, bombs, potions and other minor items will be of purchase in shops, but nothing else. Reason being is because I don't feel that they should be bought. In my opinion, these items should be found by exploration! Like rings and even tunics will be hidden throughout Mokuto that you can find. But when it comes to scrolls, you must earn them. Scrolls are in there own category. You will explore the land, find a certain cave and you will go through a trial that will grant you access to another cave that will grant you the scroll. It's kind of like the hidden skills from Twilight Princess, but in my own way. Also just know that there WILL be item messages to tell you what item you get when you pick it up, so you don't have to worry about knowing what skill is what and so on. (Just remember the main point of this quest is to find four items, so that could give the idea around this quest and it's items!)

Important Dates

For those that do not know, I have three main goals of 2016: Continue to run everyday, complete every single Zelda game I own (In celebration of the 30 year anniversary of the series) and of course to complete The 3 Forces 2: Revenge of Death Link! But to complete my quest, I'm going to set strict dates to help me get this quest done. While there are only 4 total on here, and how there is a huge gap between the first and second, each one have A LOT to do in between, so that is the reason why they are there. I also only have them in week increments because I don't know an exact date, but know the week of this date will make it better! Here are these dates:

-Week of January 3rd: Release Major Update for the year 2016
-Week of November 6th: Completed everything except final dungeon. Release Beta-Testing and minor things Update
-Week of December 11th: Be completed with game with some beta-testing done. Release final update and close project.
-Week of December 25th: Release The 3 Forces 2: Revenge of Death Link to PureZC.

Knowing that there is a huge gap between now and the November update, the quest won't be much active. I will be releasing some screenshots between now and then, just to show how everything is going. But other than that, all the dates are here. I do want to note that these updates can come sooner. Please make sure you know that. If I get most of the quest done before that week of Nov. 6th, I WILL release the update before hand. My goal is to have everything done before State Cross Country this coming year, and that week is the week after state, so that explains that.

Beta-Testing/Minor Stuff

As you saw in the dates above, there will be an update about beta-testing. This update will include details with it that I am just going to explain now. I'm going to need at least four beta-testers and up to six. Reason being is the more I have, the better chances we can catch bugs, glitches, game-breaking things, and even sequence break events throughout the quest before release. I'd like to have VERY few updates after release that involve glitches or bugs. These testers will also be able to have a more broad opinion about difficulty and story, from things that I should change difficulty wise, or story wise! The more the merrier in this case! I also would prefer these beta-testers to have Skype. The reason being more obvious, with contacting each other being way more easier. Even that, I could have a call that I could gather all my beta-testers and we could talk about the quest and discuss stuff I should do to the quest to make it better. I need these people to help me make the quest better. I also need someone who isn't busy too much and can easily beta-test without too much distraction. I completely understand about busyness, so that's why I know I can't beta-test...I'm way too busy! I'm just asking for people who aren't busy and would love to do this for me. That's all I really need out of my beta-tester, and hope he/she are experienced.

I will not be accepting requests right now from people though. I don't need to anyone until November, so please don't come ask me yet. I already have an idea of a couple people I would like, and I think I already have one who will be doing it. So again, I ask you not to contact me about beta-testing until the update comes in. Thank.

There isn't much other minor things I need to discuss really. The quest itself is just about it's story and it's exploration. It is more linear, but at a non-linear feel. You have to go to the areas in a certain order, but you can explore the area in any way you want. The quest will also be changed to a "Story-Driven" quest, with it's large improvement of the story. Other than that there's nothing else I can say but you'll have to wait till release and other updates for more information. Just be looking out for screenshots and such!

So that sums everything up. Hope you guys enjoyed this update. I will be releasing some screenshots for the quest in the next few days...or weeks. :P Haha, anyways be on the look out for those dates, cause who knows those updates may come sooner! And remember, don't send any requests for beta-testing, because I will completely ignore them. The quest seems like it's going to be a wonderful thing, I'm enjoying creating it, and will enjoy it more when I actually to play it, and watch others play it. I do hope people are excited because I actually am (But I am the creator so that's expected)! You all go out there and have yourself a good day/night/morning/evening, what ever and when ever you're reading this! Bye and thank you so much for reading! :D

This sounds great! I'm really liking what you've done so far and I look forward to seeing more stuff in November.

I know you've mentioned that you don't need any beta testing requests now, but count me in for the beta testing in November anyway :P I wanna play this when the beta testing phase comes around.

Thanks Eddy! It does mean a lot! :D And don't worry, you where one of the people I was thinking of behind Moosh. I also have a couple more I'd like to say, but I just need to wait till November.
