Also, finally figured out why my scripted potion wasn't working right. Rather than being a 100% fill item that you use once or twice, the potion is an ammo item that can be used multiple times to heal a portion of health and magic. This (along with other scripted ammo items) are supposed to be activated when you get a potion and deactivated when the counter runs to zero. But the potion was deactivating after use, even if the counter was above zero. All the other action was correct, and the code to deactivate is the same as for other ammo items. So after pouring over my code trying to trace the problem and coming up with squat, I checked each tab on the item editor. Turns out I'd forgotten to uncheck Remove Item When Used when I turned item 29 into a scripted potion from the built in one.
Lesson: even in a zebra farm, occasionally it's just a horse.
