It's been a while long time since my last update, but I've been very busy working on the background workings of Hylian Spirits.

Subscreens and Items:

The Subscreens are now completed and have been added in (Below).

Link has access to a sword, separate from normal equipment items, and new "spirit powers", which play into recovery mechanics and saving. To support a faster more engaging combat system Link has been given both A and B equip-able items and an Dodge roll. The lamp has also been changed to act more as a support item, this means it can no longer damage enemies. The visuals have also been changed to resemble the lamp from alttp.

Map system:

A new map system has also been added. One of the biggest problems play testers and myself found is how useless the map and compass feel. So I made it my mission to fix that! Thanks to MM for his map system, even though it did not work or have the features I wanted for my quest it did make for some great study material so I could create mine! :derp:
The map system will draw rooms as you visit them and floors if you have visited any rooms on that floor (below).

Once you find the map, the entire dungeon is shown. This includes floors, although the dungeon used for this screen shot only has one floor (below).

Finding the compass will show you the locations of items, the floor your currently on, the room your in and where the Boss is. (below).

Other:

A few other systems have been added.
  • a change to how dark rooms work. A sight cone similar to how alttp does it has been added to replace the solid black screen.
  • All enemies are using Ghost, with the exception of a few basic enemies. This is required for the changes into to the games combat.
  • Tango is now used for menus and text. Tango offers suppior control with text blocks, specially when used in mini-games and cut-scenes!
  • Animated stairs and teleports. Yeah the old screen transition is boring.
  • Link has a sidekick! It doesn't really do anything yet but follow you around... But don't worry it'll be driving you crazy in no time!
That's all for now!

Oh my, this deserves way more attention! You have done a wonderful job dishing out your vision.

I am very impressed with the guaranteed success this quest is offering.

Thanks guys. This means a lot to see replies like these and it tells me I'm on the right track. But I can use help I need dedicated testers to play the game, help find bugs and give design suggestions.

Man, if you can make something like that using Zelda Classic you could probably make something better with more resources.

I can help test, but very rarely, PM me if you want.
