As promised, I will be entering Adam's Quest Redux into the Expo. However, I still have a few things to fix up, such as a few strings that don't have borders around them, keys being blue instead of silver colored, forgetting to check "Hold Up Item" for items with pickup strings and removal of door repair charges, instead replacing them with secret money caves, although they could be worth as little as 5 Rupees. I also want to add a bit more detail into a few things.

One of my biggest concerns with the Expo will be judging the quest's difficulty. Overall, I want it to be decently challenging, but I am a bit worried that through nerfing enemies, I may end up making the quest too easy. I still feel that to some, my older demos were either too frustrating or too difficult. More information will present itself come Expo time, but for now and until October 5th, I won't be working too much on getting my Expo prepared. I do have the body present in a Word document. However, I still need to get some screenshots and better try to sell my remake.

Due to time constraints, I don't know if I will have the level 4 area and level 4 done on time or not. My goal will be to complete that area and dungeon in time for the Expo, but no promises. Either way, hope to see you guys for the Expo and I'll try to catch anyone's stream, playthrough or otherwise of it. Looking forward to the feedback and hoping that I'll get good feedback on how to see this project through to the end.

On another note and not really Expo related, I had some ideas for post level 8 stuff, but to be honest, I keep thinking ahead of myself. So yeah, should level 4 get done, it will be an ice-themed area and dungeon. Put on your parka, sweatpants, two pairs of socks, scarf, hat and snow boots; it's going to be a very cold ride!

Just try to get as much as you can before the expo and remember to try and not rush yourself. As for the difficulty, the expo should definitely give you some insight into how others would think about the overall difficulty of the demo.

I'll probably be playing the demo myself this time round, so I'll try to provide some more feedback.

That's what I hopefully will do. I don't want to rush it and end up with all kinds of bugs, errors, etc. I guess to be honest, my thing is that I feel the game is, at this time, easier than what I would normally make. However, I'm basing difficulty off my experiences with my past expo, where a few people I talked to and I thought it was fine, I remember Jubbz and especially David getting flattened by the difficulty.

My overall goal is to get as close to an average rating of 3 for difficulty as possible. Basically, the scale will be 1-5, with 1 being a complete pushover, 3 being just right and 5 being Armageddon Quest tier difficulty. I'm continuing to assess a few other things as well. I still got to remove a couple of the negative aspects of the quest though.

UPDATE: As the expo's deadline has been pushed back, I have made a few sweeping changes and fixed a couple last minute errors I came across. First of all, you now begin with the Wooden Arrow and all you have to find is the bow to start shooting arrows. Secondly, I added a new item to replace the Wooden Arrow item that will be useful for finding secrets and making early game combat less dangerous. I also added two variants of each Rupee, ones with pickup messages and ones without. The new system is in line with the official Zelda series, except that the 10 Rupee denomination is pink instead of yellow. I adjusted some prices and made enemies prone to dropping Rupees now have a rare chance at dropping 20s.

Thank you to everyone that has supported me, whether it's been commenting on my content, liking it, providing feedback or having any hand in the project, whether it's through me using your tiles or your scripts. I hope that this project has just as good of a turnout as Adam's Quest II did back in the Winter 2014 Expo.
