Honestly, I think it's best for you to learn to make cutscenes. Handing the job to other people won't improve your experience with Zquest. If you need help making cutscenes. Post a topic here.
As for the cutscenes. I'll help you start out. Go to screen data, and check "invisible Link" and "No subscreen". Most cutscenes don't have a subscreen, so these flags might help you.

I thank you for this post. I was actually starting to think about cutscenes for my own quest and by coincidence I saw this thread pop up. Thanks for the tip.Honestly, I think it's best for you to learn to make cutscenes. Handing the job to other people won't improve your experience with Zquest. If you need help making cutscenes. No offense to the OP, but I like learning how to do new things on my own. This program never ceases to amaze me with what can be done.

what satisfaction there if you don't do it yourself ?
OMFG this, Dark Ice Dragon, have a cookie.
I mean, I'll occasionally request a MIDI or some sprites to be made, since those are things that are outside of the realm of ZC, but making cutscenes in ZC, by working with the limitations you have is something that is so satisfactory, and makes your project all the more unique.

Here's the thing, Kivitoe. It's perfectly fine to ask for help. People ask for things like scripts, tiles, music, help with figuring out how to do something in ZQuest, and such all the time. People even ask for help with their projects in a larger role like cutscene designer. We actively encourage people to seek help when they need it. However what you are doing here isn't asking for help. It's demanding people on a volunteer focused community to do things for you just because you don't want to put effort into even remotely trying to understand what you are asking for.
This is not a simple generic plug and play thing. Cutscenes that show off the story of your quest are a pretty crucial and specific part of a quest that's going to have a story. The person making them will need to be really familiar with the quest and thus will need to constantly be in touch with you. In other words, it's a group project. In order for things to go smoothly in a group project, you need to be willing to meet group members halfway. Is your weakness in making cutscenes? That's fine if you can't make them and don't have time to fully learn how to do it. Asking for someone to help make those is fine since one of the neat things group projects can do is fill in holes by introducing people with different skills and interests. However, you also need to be willing to learn about what the group member is doing. (This is not the same as "how to do it.") You need a general idea of what cutscene design is going to involve since you need to design your quest around what the other group member is doing and you need to be able to talk to them about it so that you can both figure out where the quest is going to go.
"I don't want to learn it" is the complete opposite attitude to have with a group project because it basically tells your fellow group members "I'm not interested in talking to you about it. Just do it like I say." ![]()

I didn't mean that! I would talk to them and see what they are doing. I would want to see what they come up with, I just don't have enough time on my hands to make cutseens too.

If you have time to make the quest, then you have time to make the cutscenes. Cutscenes are PART of the quest. Stop giving excuses and just do it.

I have a feeling that making a cutscene is kinda part of making a quest.
Edit: I got ninjad again. Am I a reverse ninja or something!? D:

Fine. I'm locking this topic, so no one will be able to request make cutscene's anymore.
