Hi there fellow PZC Community. On my last update, I posted that I would be giving updates at least once a month. Well, that was a big fat lie. :P I've been pretty busy in school, in my life and I haven't been motivated like before to keep up a good work pace in ZQuest. I've still made a few screens in these past weeks, but what I'm about to announce in this post is of much importance.

THERE WON'T BE ANYMORE PUBLIC UPDATES FOR AN UNKNOWN TIME

The reason of this decision is because I feel that if I keep updating (even giving out small hints) about Hylian's Legacy, the quest will eventually burnout itself. I started to think about this when I read a similar topic from NJF's Souls of Wisdom 2. Since that guy is wise as hell, his decision was a good one, and I'm actually making that same decision. In a few words, I'm keeping progress to myself and my developer staff to avoid this possible situation until I feel that I would make enough development to actually announce something new.

Another reason why I'm quieting progress is for my lack of inspiration. Just think of this update as a notice for why I haven't been talking about it for quite a while now. For those that still care about my project, just be glad I don't have any means of cancelling this, I'm only taking a break now and then. So, don't worry, as I'll likely still be posting updates in an indirect manner (such as shots for SotW) ;)

So that's all for my part, and, until we meet again. :D

Sounds perfectly fine to me, if you think that will help you best then go right ahead.

I'll still be looking forward to the quest, so best of luck for the future :D

Demonlink kinda likes to add a bit of a dramatic touch to his posts. :P He's much better at it than me. The last time I tried to do such a thing I posted it on April Fools and nobody knew what I was doing or saying because they didn't know if I was being serious. Lol

It's nice you took this approach. It's ridiculous people push themselves to have updates at certain times, because all that does is stress you out and could even make you burn yourself out on your own quest!

I'd only update if there was something groundbreaking, which usually doesn't happen in personal projects too often. Don't want to be a buzzkill.

Even if there was something groundbreaking, if you can't follow through people are gonna stop caring. Then when shits done, there gonna be like OMG! This is Bomb BEEEEEEEEEEEE!

I think your decision is wise.

I've worked in marketing before so I would know.

Exactly. I used to do this, but when I looked at this from another angle, I simply started to actually think about it. And like I said before, NJF's similar decision was the thing that finally made me realize this. So from now on, while progress is going to be more slow (school and crap :P ), I think taking an undefined break from ZQuesting will be good for me, because I was already starting to feel pressured and burned out :(

Thanks, I also believe it's a wise decision. Like I said to Jared, this break will do well for me. I don't plan to cancel this quest, I'm just too far in development to quit now, so instead I'll just work on it when I feel like it. If I ever finish Hylian Legacy, I'll try my best to release it in a few years (yeah, I really mean years). Due to life and crap, I said that because I'm starting to get more busy with other stuff, especially school, so that's pretty much self explanatory.

Yeah, work and school really start getting in the way once you get to senior year/ish, and when you actually leave high school and possibly go to college. Be prepared.

man being busy... tell me about it. If I didn't learn how to be somewhat patient, I would have lost my mind already
