The Triforce of Corruption.  I just posted it yesterday, and realized I should probably announce it.  It is the work of a few years.  Not continuous, but I moved and had other events occur about 2/3 of the way through completion, so I forgot to pick it up for two years and finally finished it recently.  As such there MAY be a touch of disjointedness at some point, but I think I smoothed over it due to extensive and thorough pre-planning.  I started in 1.92 and finished in 2.5

About the quest:

In ages past an item of vast evil was broken into 8 pieces and hidden throughout the land.  Now monsters are emerging from these dark places to infest the world above.  A young man decides to seek out these sources of corruption and gather them together...

  • "Near original" theme and feel.  I attempted to not stray too far from what I felt could have been done with the original system.
  • Features 2 Overworld maps, 1 Underworld map, and 17-24 dungeons, depending on how you want to count them.  6 full maps in total.
  • Several custom enemies, mostly extensions of original Zelda enemies, but hopefully more interesting.
  • Some very difficult puzzles.  I believe they are all "fair", in that none rely on doing something random or counter-intuitive.  No bombing blocks, burning rocks, or wanding random walls.  There's always SOME kind of hint or direction about maze paths to be found, and the old ladies do know things of importance.
  • Combat is difficult and may be unfair at times.  My play tester complained I had too many shooters, so I removed a lot.  Hopefully it's better balanced now, but let me know if there's a point you feel is out of control.
  • Modified original LOZ tileset.
  •  Heavy emphasis in exploration, especially in the second half.  You'll need to look around.  Fairly non-linear.

Let me know what you think.  This is my first posted quest, but it's not short or half-assed.  It may not be fully assed, but that's not from lack of trying.  Tell me if you see a glitch, break, bug, etc.  Thanks!

It looks like a really great quest, and I'm sure you put monumental amounts of effort into it. It is definitely a quest I plan on playing once I have the time! :D

I'm almost sure it will receive a really high rating, as I can tell from the information. As long as the execution and several other parts of the quest are good, then it will receive good reviews. And since it took so much time, it is long and heavily tested, so it should be good! :) And that's the reason why I really want to play this, but probably only on the weekends after I finish reviewing the quests of a two week contest we recently held. :D

Also good luck with any future quests you might make! ;)

I really like what you did with this screenshot:

It looks like a nice quest, I'll be trying it.

Thanks guys!  I hope the quest lives up the expectation the screen shots created.

Fortunately (?), I forgot to get screen shots together during my last play through, so all the ones you see were just what I was able to gather up in half an hour of roaming around, so I don't think they're too far off the mark.  I've got one or two nicer floor tile art rooms, but it's not the standard by any means!

Hi and welcome to the forum.

In the Rock Dungeon I seem to be short a key. Where is the key for this door? I got two keys already and used them to get to this door. I've bombed walls tried to walk through walls, pushed blocks.

It would've been nice if you had enabled the overworld map. It would make getting around the overworld easier. It's hard to know where you have been.

Thank you! :)

Thanks!  As per your question, my playtester had some difficulty there also.  It's not a bug or a glitch, all the necessaries keys are in the dungeon, and there's no arrangement that can get you stuck (there at least).  If you can't find them:

Thank You! :D  For some reason this time I didn't even try bombing those and I usually try that and everything else. I'm slipping in my old age!  I got both! :D

I should probably set out a general warning:

If you're not thorough, you will get frustrated.

No...  you'll get frustrated anyways.  This quest is hard.  To put it one way: I wouldn't have finished it when I was 10.

My friend (my playtester) finished his before I did, and playing through his made me ratchet up the puzzle trickiness.  Trust me though, his was way harder.  I'm trying to get him to put his up.

I have no idea what you're asking.  Sorry!

In your first post you say that you feature 2 over-world maps. But I haven't been able to pull up an over-world map, Thus the question.
