Sepulcher almost got my vote but its hard to tell if that grass is snowy or naturally that color. Maybe snow effect tiles would have been nice.

Russ gets my vote because I'm a bit tired of seeing DoR forest screens.

*voted for SUCCESSOR.
I know, how difficult it is, to make a good screen with this tileset. But your screen looks nice. ^^

...and SUCCESSOR trapped that poor woman at the top of the screen. I feel the need to save all damsels in distress.

I normally don't respond to SOTW topics, I usually just vote in the poll and move on. But I had to make a comment about SUCCESOR's submission. Sure it isn't any sort of fancy graphics, just simply GBA Zelda graphics. But the composition of the shot is nothing short of amazing. My eyes just draw straight to it and all aspects of the shot had their place and your attention immediately dove to the house on the left which, I'm gathering, is the focal point of the entire shot. Supremely crafted shot SUCCESSOR. Bravo.

I need to stop slacking off in commenting on these...

SUCCESSOR - I voted here. Not really sure how to describe it, so I'll just go with DFW's comments: It just catches my eye in all the right ways. I think it could use a bit more ground detail, but otherwise, nice job.

Sepulcher - Looks good, solid, no complaints. This might be my number two choice.

-DuCkTApE- - Never really was a fan of flat green in Classic, especially when Link's colors blend into it. The staircase color also seems off, and what's with that odd line over the rocks above the waterfall? Actually it's over the rocks at the base of the upper waterfall as well... Otherwise, the screen design's still pretty good. icon_thumbsup.gif

Guardian - At a glance, it's hard to see what's going on here. None of the colors really stand out distinguishably between the cliffs and the grass, and the shadows don't help that. It's not particularly eye-catching either; it just looks like every other DoR forest shot at this rate.

Russ - At least we're getting more Pure shots like I wanted and it's a good thing Hybrid Link ain't hanging around... Nothing particularly special, it looks very similar to many of your other shots with this set, but no complaints either.

Dragonite - I don't look how flat the water looks at the top. The cave entrance's coloration is also off, I'm assuming from the shadows above. It's a good shot, but fairly generic, and... just look at the water. It's just... flat. Even at the waterfall. icon_unsettled.gif

You know, I think its precisely the lack of ground detail that makes SUCCESOR's shot so appealing. It has 'just enough' detail to be interesting, but not enough to overcrowd the rest of the shot.

I guess it is good that this is just a concept shot, then.
