Here are my theories:
1) The moon will crash into the planet in exactly 3 days.
2) A stupid fish will wake up, taking this entire dream with it.
3) A very eccentric teenage high school girl will get annoyed and giant blue blobby things will destroy everything.
4) A silver-haired maniac will send a meteor into the planet. *Stares coldly at someone on the forum.*
5) Many many nukes go off and turn the world into a nuclear waste land where people were kept in vaults...or something.

I got all of those apart from the last one, where's that from?

I didn't get the third and the last one. icon_razz.gif

The end of the world? One simple answer, Zelda stops being made, and all forms of Zelda are destroyed. icon_razz.gif

For an actual doomsday, the sun dies out. We have electricity, so we might be able to survive inside buildings, but going outside would be suicide.

Of course, that won't happen for billions of years, but it's still an inevitable future.

Eh. Why should I have a theory about the end of the world when it isn't based on any kind of expertise? It'd be nothing more than a guess or a baseless belief.

Of course, since the beginning of Judaism, people have been trying to concoct a scripture-based prediction of the end of the world (in fact I bet all religions attempt to do this at some point). The problem is that even if you believe the Bible, it specifically states that no one will be able to predict the end. I think that pretty much trumps any other supposed clues you might find in the book.

That's exactly what I said a few posts ago.

The last one was supposed to be Fallout. I don't play it myself, but having a brother who loves that game helps some. icon_wink.gif The third one is from The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya.

I guess when the sun dies out, disaster will ensue, but I think we'll have the technology by then to help ourselves. icon_razz.gif

From what I've tasted of desire I hold with those who favor fire.

Well, one theory is said:

A black hole is going to get close to Jupiter and then Jupiter will be destroyed causing chaos to Earth. Earthquakes, all volcanoes erupting and even Pole Shift! But it is said only in 2.3 billion years later.

But if it had to perish twice, I think I know enough of hate to say that for destruction ice is also great and would suffice.

So what you're saying is that one doomsday theory is Global Warming due to destruction of the ice?

No...it's a short poem by Robert Frost, I was completing it from Fire Wizzrobe's post:

Some say the world will end in fire,
Some say in ice.
From what I've tasted of desire
I hold with those who favor fire.
But if it had to perish twice,
I think I know enough of hate
To say that for destruction ice
Is also great
And would suffice.

I've already posted my thoughts in this thread, complete with links to other information...

That's actually a weird poem. I never seen it before.

Well according to Historians, there will probably be another Ice Age which will end most of human life on earth.

Also, Jupiter, it's impossible for us to colonize ourselves into other planets. It's just not possible.

Jupiter (the planet) can affect us due to a large piece of gravity

As for the Ice Age, they predict that in 2011 there will be another Ice Age (blue marble) and 95% of humans will die. Totally not a good sign icon_eek.gif

Are you sure? It's impossible for it to happen now. There are no signs of it occurring anytime soon.

You do know that if the sun actually burns out, everything on our solar system will freeze right? It doesn't matter if we would have the technology to survive. We can't and will never be able control nature. Also, the sun has been active for way longer than the earth was ever created. It's probably 20+ billion years old already.

I would imagine that if a black hole were to form close enough to us to consume Jupiter it would also consume Earth.
