When I was young, I remember being able to buy NES games for under $10, and SNES games for under $30. ((And I grew up when SNES was the big thing)) Currently, a new game will run anywhere from $45-60. Not to mention the amazingly high prices for the consoles. Do you feel that the prices are getting too high?

Yes! And it's absolutely horrible! D:
Even used games are expensive.
The average game [that I buy] is about $55.
Too much x__X

Wow. I'm sorry. By the way, I LOVE your avatar.

Currently, I feel as though video games are really expensive. I haven't bought one in a few years, haha. Though, nothing cool has really come out in a while..

The price has gone up, but so has the depth of games. i think we're getting alot for our money.

Although lower prices would be great.

You can't say that about all of them.
For example, the games that are based off of pixar movies.
[i.e. Cars, Finding Nemo, The Incredibles... etc.]
My nephew [who is seven] has lots of those. I've played my share. They're not that great. Or long.
Plus, they still cost as much as any other game.

Good Point. Not to mention the fact that the depth of a video game only needs to be created once. Then they are copied by the millions. It isn't as though each game has to be individually programmed, y'know? Besides, with the technology today it doesn't take as much to create a sweet game as it used to.

But hey, I'll still buy it if it's good.

...And that's how they make they're money >,<

Yeah, actually burning the games on to Dvds and the dvds themselves cost next to nothing.

I wonder how much money is spent on developing a game? *googles*

well, considering that I dont' have a wii yet, I mainly buy DS games, which are pretty reasonably priced. 30-35 dollars is a price tag I can manage and not be broke, but games are still pretty reasonable for consoles anyway. If I remember, some N64 games costed up to 70$ (I'm looking at you mario64) and people still bought them. And besides, if people are willing to pay 50-60 dollars for games, then they're going to be sold for that much, if the companies can make profit, it's not like they're going to lower the prices to be nice. The business world is serious business.

True... if it's a good game, people will pay for it.
You ever think they're just trying to see how much they can raise prices before people stop buying?
I wouldn't be surprised :O
