Wow! This week has some great shots! All of them have great detail, and are full of eye candy. Other than that:

Shoelace: It's a very good shot, but it doesn't compete with the excellence of the other shots. The big guy in the lower right is an interesting one to look at.

Dart Zadiyer: The grove and altar are well done, making the entire shot look great.

ZC-Ninja: I saw this one in your signature already, ZC-Ninja. Your custom work is excellent, which I probably told you before. Plus, it looks like a very interesting encounter.

BH4: You have a great effect going on there. I can sense the thunderstorm very well. Link is about to face some great evil very soon. Great job with the entire facade!

Dark Emperor: This was my choice, but it was a very close call between this shot and BH4's shot. The stone walkway is very attractive, along with the building on the left, and the grass is very good too. The cliffs actually look very good as well. Even though there is not a variety of trees, they are not part of the primary focus. The entire shot is superior in quality.

I have a feeling it's going to be close this week. I should've entered :O. In all of them, there's nothing super spectacular, but then again, there's nothing suck about them. I voted for ZC-Ninja because I don't want to die.

It's a hard pick this week.

BH4: While it look nice, It all looks weird. But that IS how it happened in ALttP.

Dark Emperor: Too neon bright for me. Otherwise, a good shot.

Dart Zadiyer: Nice screen, but where are the animals and the fog effects? Put them in, and it's a winner.

Shoelace: It's a nice screen overall. Well organized and plesant to the eye.

ZC Ninja: Love Link's expression and the rest looks good.

I picked Shoelace, can't explain why.

Haha, ZC-Ninja gets my vote. Nice ghost screenshot. Nothing spectacular, but still looking good.

Is it just me or is Dark Emperor's screenie a bit too bright? Uh, my eyes!

Well, I can't talk about this screen because it would be a spoiler, but I thought it came out nicely for the scene it displays.

Wow, after about 18 submissions from "The Hero of Dreams", it still never won a SotW. I know it was because of the Pure Tileset and because it was overused, but I thought my screen design would win at least one of them. Oh well, the pure tileset I guess isn't the best pick for a SotW. lol. Next week, I will submit a picture from my game "The Dark Shadow", which is 1-0 at the SotW (my only win), so I will see if my new graphic style on the game can get a few eye-openers.

By the way, I really like Dark Emperor's and ZC-Ninja's screens this week. Great job.

I tried adding fog to my screen, but in so doing I quickly discovered that it looked terrible. I'll have to find some way to rework the fog tiles in the LttP set, because the current way they're done is all wrong.

Anyway, some commentary for this week:

• BH4: In my opinion, this is one of those scenes that would work way better in gameplay than as a stand-alone screenshot. Although as the resident LttP buff, I gotta ask... You are aware that Ganon's Tower is supposed to stop glowing when the seal is broken, right?
  
• Dark Emperor: There's something about this tileset that doesn't seem quite right. The palettes are loud and the colors don't fit very well together. Personally, I'd adjust it until it looks cohesive, like I'm guessing it's supposed to.
  
• Shoelace: I think it's safe to say the "zowie" has been milked dry with Pure. Still, it's a pretty cool scene.
  
• ZC Ninja: I don't know what it is about this shot, but it doesn't seem to grab me. The "sheet ghosts" from Yoshi's Island are an interesting sight, though.

Josh: Nice pic, and I do like the way you made the tower glow, however, and Im not sure if you meant to do this or not, but I rember the tower glowing a lot faster, and it was a little duller then that. Also, the way the black becomes a really light shade of gray on the lighter colors looks a little messed up... Othewise, this would actually have been my third choice ^^.

Dark Empororer: Nice melting I guess, but the house doesent really look right, and well, the pallete is just really messed up . The light green dosent work with the browns and the stones at all.

Dart Zaider: Well although this is a very nicely put toghter shot, it seems just a little more gameplay then looks. Cant wait til 2.11 although Ill stil proboly use 1.92 cause Im cool like that.

Shoelace: This truely is beuatiful, I mean, its just a good layout. The only things I can actually critique on this are the orange tree dosent fit with the grass, and the little dirt pacth at the edge just should be a bit bigger, and not so much hugging the wall. This definatly got 2nd.

Zc-Ninja: The tiles seem to melt into the floor, try to make them stand out more, and make the fricken corner pieces already! (yes I hate myself just kidden)

The competition in SOTW has gotten a lot tougher as the contest has gone on. Well-designed Pure shots won SOTWs left and right in the early days. Now you almost have to have a talent in custom graphics to win a competitive week. Don't be disheartened.

This week is abnormal in that almost every shot is about equal quality. I went with ZC-Ninja in the end, mostly for its fresh look.

I just realised I never really commented on all the pictures.

BH4: It's designed nice and all, but I hate flashing palletes. Seriously. Other than that, it's nice.
Dark Emporer: I think you should have changed the palletes abit. The roof of the house is ugly. The black on the mountains should have been a dark brown. Other than that, nice.
Dart: Apart from the features of the beta, I'm so not impressed.
Shoelace: I love scene. Even though Pure sucks and it never really made me think it was good, it looks nice ^_^
ZC Ninja: corner tiles for great justice. Oh, and I love the bridge.

bh4: its rather plain, the flashing is kinda annoying too
darkemporor: some tiles dont fit in nicely, but its a pretty cool shot overall, 2nd
DartZadiyer: its pretty generic and similar to lttp, but its put together nicely,and the large lttp sprite is a definite plus 3rd
Shoelace: the best screen, excellent use of the GBC tiles and great colours. a nice area too, the only thing wrong is the background tiles are a little wierd. 1st
ZCNinja: awful custom tiles and terrible sprites I really cannot see how this one is winning
