Welcome to PureZC, mudvayne! icon_smile.gif

So... custom bosses, eh? We'll start with the basic way that everyone knows. First, get a sprite that you'd want to be a boss (preferably something big), then layer it onto the screen. Make sure its tiles are fully solid. Custom bosses also use several screens, usually one for each attack. When the boss takes a certain amount of damage, you'd have the ground trigger to pits and warp you to the next screen where the boss might do something else.
Like... say you place the boss on the screen. Place enemies on the screen and use the enemy flags to place them under teh boss. Basically, you'll ahve to kill all the enemies under the boss, but it looks as if it'll have it's own life and hits. icon_smile.gif Also, put on the flag "enemies-secret" and put secret combo flags all over the floor. Let's say you use flag 16. Then, make that secret comb othe same floor tile, but make it a pit. Also, set the tile warp to the next screen. The next screen should be a copy of the first, but the boss could be somewhere else on it, and he could do something different. When all the enemies die, the pits are triggered, and it goes to the next attack. Here all all the attacks a boss could do:
- Fireballs via fire shooter enemies, or statues
- Enemies that toss projectiles (lynels, stalfos 3, etc.) can be put under the boss to make it seem like he's throwing the projectiles at you.
- Combo cycling. This is a mroe advanced technique. If you can cycle combos from regualr ones to damage ones properly, you can make some great attacks.
- Screen cycling. My favorite technique. Pits are all over the screen, so when Link moves, he's always warping. Each screen is a different animation, so it looks liek the boss is attackign as Link moves. icon_razz.gif At one point, you'd hit the boss, which'd cause stair warps to appear. They'd warp you to the next screen, but on the side where a conveyor is... which'd sidewarp you to the next attack.

Well... there's a cluttered explanation... icon_sweat.gif but I assume you already know the basics of ZC, correct? If you are confused (and I wouldn't be surprised after my explanation), just say so and I'll try and make it more understandable. icon_smile.gif

Flashing... well, you can't really do that one, unfortunately.
...
Wait.. if the boss were 1 tile, you could! icon_biggrin.gif You'd make him a bush, and the under combo would be him flashing, but also a bush! It'd combo cycle to him not flashign as well. It'd keep recycling over and over of him flashing!

Though... you could make where you hit the tree be a spark that pops out instead.
