For me, in descending order, here it is:
  • 5. Super Smash Bros. Melee (GameCube)
  • 4. Rock Man DASH (Play Station)
  • 3. StarCraft (PC/Mac)
  • 2. Super Mario RPG (Super Famicom)
  • 1. Rock Man DASH 2 (Play Station)

I would pay $600 plus the cost of the game just to have Rock Man DASH 3...

Eh.
In no particular order:
Chrono Trigger
-If you haven't played this game, I don't know you.
Super Mario RPG
-One couldn't ask for a better use of as many hours as I put into this baby.
Final Fantasy V
-The Job system swept me off my feet when I first played it. It's taken permanent residence in my DS since it came out on GBA.
Sonic 3 and Knuckles
-IMO, the last great Sonic game made.
Final Fantasy XI
-Do I need a reason?

Honorable Mention: Ocarina of Time, Metroid Prime, God of War

Agh, only 5?
  • Final Fantasy 6: Great plot, great characters, beaten it at least 5 times over again. Only complaint is that it's not long enough.
  • SuperMairoRPG: The only mario thats translated into an RPG. It just... works. Amazingly well to. They went in the completely wrong direction with Super Mario SuperStar Saga, as they took the RPG stlye and gameplay out and replaced it with what I can only call childish crap. Grate Guy's casino is still my favorite "secret" in any game, ever.
  • Cave Story: It's so unique and fun... along with the multiple different ways things to do that affect the story... it's just beyond words.
  • Chrono Trigger: Beautiful game that again is very indepth and can be beaten multiple ways. While not my favorite game ever, I do consider it the best RPG ever created.
  • Twilight Princess: Fond memories of this game just bieng really, really fun to play. Perhaps it was the Wiimote, but something about it was just... fun. Great plot, great gameplay, great graphic.
Many others, like The 7th Guest, Ocarina Time, Super Smash Bros Meele, Link's Awakening, Final Fantasy 7, and Tetris.

In no particular order, I'm just naming the first five that come to mind:

-Ocarina of Time
-BS Zelda BS 1st Quest remake
-Pokemon Leaf Green
-Pokemon Emerald
-Perfect Dark

EDIT: I just realized an error I made. Instead of listing BS Zelda, I should have put "BS 1st Quest remake". I know BS Zelda is a completely different game; I just like the original LoZ and love the BS graphics. The true BS Zelda is a cool game too, but not one of my top 5.

I'm going to have to claim a 3-way tie for 1st place:

#1 - Ocarina of Time / Twilight Princess / Chrono Trigger
#4 - Chrono Cross
#5 - Wild ARMs: Alter Code F

...It's really awkward trying to compare RPGs to non-RPGs, though (except in the case of Adventure-genre games like Zelda), so I only listed my top 5 favorite RPG/Adventure games.

If I were to include all genres, I'd have a lot more trouble deciding. ^^; For starters, the Soul Calibur series would be somewhere on the list.

Also, just because they're my favorites doesn't mean they're the greatest ever...just the ones I'm most fond of. Although, I think the 3 that tied for 1st really ARE contenders for "the best of all time."

1. GTA III - Best game I've got. It's pretty violent, but the gaming world loves it.
2. Ocarina Of Time - Best N64 game I've heard of.
3. Ricky Ponting International 2005 - It's cricket, and Taco likes cricket.
4. Pokemon Yellow - First game I had. Very old-school these days when compared with the DS and that.
5. Metal Gear Solid: Snake Eater - I've watched a friend play it. There's a really weird boss who is covered in bees....

All good games, all deserve the Taco tick of approval.

I forgot about the GTA series. icon_eek.gif I like GTA III and Vice City. San Andreas wasn't quite as fun as the previous two. GTA III is my favorite of the series.

Some of my fondest memories of GTA III are playing with glitches, so perhaps the main game isn't all that great. I've never even completed all the missions.
