brown boots are for spike protection

red/gray boots are stomp boots

green scroll is spin attack

skull ring is for bubbles.  L1 has red bubbles becoming temporary, L2 all bubbles are like blue ones

spikey ring I think you're referring to charge ring

"ring with plus" is whimsical ring, random critical hits

red exclamation ring is Peril Ring, 2x defense when at 1 heart or less

after using the letter, one spot is for potions, the other is just there

L2 ladder allows you to move in 4 directions

Thanks for the breakdown!

I actually went ahead and started a new round and was able to ID a few more things along the way, such as what the "peril beam scroll" does, at least at level 1 (sword beam at 1HP or less).  I suspected the skull ring though process of elimination as the bubble protection, so it's nice to have confirmation.

Ah ha!  I just grabbed the "peril ring" this second round and had noticed something that normally does 1/2 heart did 1/4 and had a suspicion...

Same thing with the horizontal green scroll.  I noted that I *think* it granted spin attack...

If the spikey ring (Ring slot #3 from left) is charge, Is the red version what reduces the charge up time?

Ah, crit damage... that would explain the random damage values...  And it would explain why figuring power levels for item upgrades was so hard in the late game!  Is the upgrade more crits or better damage?

Hmm, I *thought* that's what the upgraded stepladder was supposed to do, but it only seems to work occasionally...  Then again, the stepladder is incredibly frustratingly buggy in every version of the game...  I wish there was an option to disable it once you have flippers/feather.  Among other things, it won't let me off into "swim" mode in anything but basic blue water (including dungeon spikes, which you can normally just walk over).

That really just leaves the other scrolls in "WTF land" - White (slot 13), Small blue (slot 20), large horizontal blue (slot 22), and large green (slot 23).  I have a note that I think one of these protects you from having your shield eaten by like-likes.  I'm fairly sure the Mirror shield also does that, but I noticed it when I had only magic at one point.  I also think one might buff magic damage, but only on some spells?  So hard to tell with that crit ring.  I'm considering not picking it up this round so I can test all the damage values properly...

Awesome to know that many of my feelings were accurate in the end, even if I had little confidence in them!

Thanks again for the reply!

I am not ashamed to say I NEED HELP!  I have 205 items, found the Stone of Agony and beaten every dungeon from every quest.  I have no idea where the 206th item is.  Also, I have not found the hidden "stalfo shaped" dungeon in the dark overworld that was mentioned.

Can someone guide me to this dungeon so I can get that hard to find 206th item, which for me is the grey super bomb from what I can gather.

Also, there was a clue in the Z end dungeon pointing to a place in the light overworld to check...  I am being cryptic, however, is this place a typo as it DOES give me access to a special place when played with in the dark overworld.

Any help is MUCH appreciated!

L1 charge ring reduces charge time a bit, but L2 charge ring you'll really notice when you try spin attacks and stuff

Upgraded whimsical ring does more damage per critical hit.  Only applies to sword, hammer, or wand itself (not the blast).  Magic book buffs up the magic blast, more so after getting L3 wand

The long white scroll is a cross beam.  When doing spin attack, if you can shoot beams, you'll shoot them in 4 directions.  Small thin blue scroll I think is quake hammer, large hammer shaped blue is super quake that charging it shakes the whole screen.  Large green scroll is hurricane spin that uses magic.  No ring to protect from like likes, mirror shield can't be eaten

The hint mentions an arrow cave.  Go into the cave that was arrow shaped in dark overworld.  Has an expansion in it, but use your lens to take a further look in there...

Gray super bomb is an easter egg item, doesn't count for item counts.  The item for the stalfos bonus dungeon I believe does count for items

Hint refers to how to get into lost overworld.  Super bomb in light world, dive in said spot in dark world (before was only light world to access lost overworld)

I am both more enlightened and more confused.  Looks like I need to check all the caves for one shaped like an arrow and then get the hunt on for the grey super bomb.  There goes my night!  LOL

Stalfo Dungeon beaten and that item is, well,  AWESOME!  LOL

Any godly hint on where this grey super bomb is?  That is my final frontier!

Basically, when you get to Zelda, don't rescue her just yet.  Look around a bit first...

Interesting hints... I'm definitely going to see if I can find all the secrets (and that damn hidden dungeon that counts toward the base 200) this time through!

Thanks again for the breakdown!  I Noticed some of those effects (like the spinning blade shots), but never would have figured out what caused them, especially since I rarely use charge in general (and didn't even know it was possible on any non-sword items)!

I'd *love* to see some sort of in-game hints when you pick stuff up, even if it's just a name.  Also a doc of some sort listing out all the gritty details (damage values and the like) for items would be great for people that either don't like the "what does it do" mini game, or figured out functions but don't want/have the time to test all the "hidden" aspects of them.

This is a little bit confusing to me. What screen is this?

The screen at the top of the map, with the left arrow of blocks.  There's an expansion in the cave on that screen, but use the lens inside the cave

In both this randomizer and the modern randomizer, I am missing an item in the overworlds. In modern, missing from both. Super, missing from light, have not started getting dark world items yet. I have a feeling there is a VERY SECRET item that is hard to find. Where would this item be? On the screens with fairies and raft path's, there are no secrets. Northwest from the eastmost raft path (directly west from the island it leads to), there is no secret. Where could this missing item be? What is the most missed Overworld item, if there is no secret one?
