That's what it's supposed to do, and what it's supposed to be used for. If you're halfways throguh a level, and need to get out quick, just use Farore's Wind and it takes you to the door. It's actually very helpful.

Yes, but this way you can do it ingame, without using technical things to speed up the process. Farore's Wind is more like the official way, because I doubt DN was thinking of people who'd just quit and open it up again when he was coding this item. Now we can play honestly

That, and FWind can save your health if the quest has continuing set to, like, 3 hearts, and you don't want to lose them all.
