1)to go full-circle with the scripting engine and implement weapon and npc scripts

You are possibly the best person ever.

2) To phase out small mode and retool ZQ's interface to use the large GUI, because the former ZQ GUI sucks and always did suck and I refuse to let anyone use it anymore.

I don't agree with that.

However, it sounds like the sort of thing I'd say in reference to a great many different features that a lot of other people use, so I'm not gonna kick up a fuss if you do it.

Can you review the tile editor though?
I posted some bugs that just make it annoying more than anything to use in large mode.
Having the combo editor the same size as the screen, and the palette editor large too would be nice aswell.
They're all so small when you open then in large mode.

That would be nice, and I'd be willing to write it; I can write reams and reams about how different things work when I get into it, but I wouldn't know where to start.

Hmm... Well you could start with the very basics, like "Ok people, here's the mainscreen of ZQuest. Now we go here to access the page where you can write these scripts. Now let's make our first script together, shall we. Always when starting a new script you have to remember this and that and then this command does this and that, see?" And so on. The way AlphaDawg's ZQuest tutorial was made, starting from the very basics and holding your hand all the way through the tutorial: http://www.kingsquee...rial/index.html

I could probably start making one myself as well if and when I figure out this scripting stuff. Maybe we could even start making one together even after what we have just said to eachother here. icon_razz.gif

Oh and based on jman's comments it seems like there's no going bavk to small mode ever again... oh well, it's not a big thing, we will get used to the large mode.

I remember I started making one, but I never had enough time to finish even half. Now its gone. icon_freak.gif
I was trying to leave out all the C garble nonsense and just explain it with words anyone can understand. I don't know. Maybe Joe123, you should start one over at AGN and then other people can just add on a little at a time. ?

It is a pain to learn at first though, it's like learning a new language. Everything breaks down to true or false, objects, and numbers. Once you get that, it's pretty easy.

It's also very similar to C. The only real difference is pointers, syntax stuff, and limitations on what is accessible. Want to make Object3 move up? object3.y-=n; or, object3->Y-=n; It's easy because the internal game engine handles everything else for you. What is object3? Anything you specify. You just have to tell the code what you want it to be. ffc object3 = Screen->LoadFFC(1);, now it's ffc#1...etc.

I do agree though, Make stuff in large mode larger! That's really the only reason I don't use it, because I cant really see anything without squinting at it and putting my face right up against the screen. lol.

Random question: (Completely random out of nowhere)..How come mouse functions were added but not controller POV or axis??

Oh, that's what it is... Thanks Joe. Well, jman, sorry to report this, I do enjoy the regular one, with the single combo list, and I like it x2 size... thing is, I do not enjoy a very small tile page or small palette area. And I like to keep things simple. I dunno. I might use it when it comes for dungeons, but outside from that...

They can't understand if it they don't specifically hear it first. icon_razz.gif ZC itself is a work in progress, so naturally, what wouldn't be?

All I have to say is "Do what you must" jman. Also, speaking for a few people here. The large screen version has a real issue with multiple monitor set ups.
The small version fixes that issue.
Just throwing it out there for ya.

XD

I know it's gonna get improved to the point where people will definately prefer to use it over small, and I'm sure it's going to be badass, but it's had a good amount of annoyances for a long while, so right now it is the weakest link. Goodbye. xP

Actually though, what's the status on the improved tile editor? I'd make the switch just for that.

Hrm, maybe =P
I'm willing to help other people to learn, I've been showing Plissken what to do on-and-off on msn messenger.

Apologies.

The editor itself is done last I checked (DN was working on that, unfortunately he's unavailable at the moment). I've got to work on making the important dialogs bigger, tiles included.

That improved tile editor is done. Awesome. I can't wait to see that. Because it will make recoloring tiles so much easier. icon_razz.gif

I already know some things in small mode don't work right now. It'd be necessary to use large mode with all the new tools and moved stuff.
