1. Select the image.
2. Click "Don't Change anything", "optimize with resizing".
3.Click host.
4. Copy the Link of the last hyper link. the real image link.

Actually, imageshack doesn't mess with the images. Photobucket reduces the size and converts them to jpgs with a quality of 7.

Also, what I meant by ImageShack "BSing", me is that out of common sense I clicked "Forum Code", and pasted it without thinking, and it gave me something weird, which I had to edit and clean up myself.

It also converts .pngs to .jpgs. It did that to that medallion I posted in a thread. You must've chose the wrong code in imageshack, cuase its got a [IMG]image.bmp[/IMG] tag. In fact its the first one listed, and the one I always use, which works fine.
