This is my first non-16x16 custom sprite. Everything was drawn from scratch. Tell me what you think about it:

Hm... yeah.

Stand up, and walk around your house. Note that when you walk youre feet do in fact leave the earth, unless you have some wierd foot diease.

Also note that your hands arent directly connected to your elbows. That trick works with 16x16 dudes, but if your going to do something larger, your goign to have to get it a bit more realitic.

Finnaly, raise your hands in the air. Now put them on the back of your head, and feel around. While you may not have hair, (small possibility, I dunno) you will more likely than not hit something protruding out of your head. Those are ears, and everyone has them. Even pixel people.

I dont think I can actually make it any simpler to explain other than that. Good luck chummy.

Hmm....

I agree with the rest here. Work could be desired a little more here. Keep trying though. Never give up. Eventually you'll get one that appeals to everyone.

All I have to add is that arms are not that stubby. Arms typically reach a bit below the waist.

No, no, no! His feet can't stop in midair. You can't make a realistic animation without adding more frames.

Also in version 2, his right foot remains on the ground constantly while his left is always in the air.

hmm, I'll await version 4 cause version 3 fixes the hair and comes with in in-game example.

well I fixed the hair, and you can see how it would look in a game as well:

Sorry to say but thats even worse. Id give you constructive critizism, but you havent really fixed anything already commented on upon in this thread.

The arms are to short, legs defy human anatomy, the hats top flops up and down (hats dont jump up and down that much), ect. ect.

Still have aways to go chummy.

Looks fine for a starter sprite to me...
If you really want to change it, just keep practicing, study how people move, look at other sprites.
