[The Satellite]

There are two major changes to the Board Index:
- Member Specific has been deemed worthy enough to have its own section in the General category, below General Computer Discussion/Aid, and is no longer a subforum of General Discussion.
- To those whom it may apply: Mature Discussion is now a subforum of General Discussion. We feel that this is a good fit for it, and eliminates a category that had only one forum remaining under it after the removal of the Debate Room.

We will soon be in the process of phasing out the Off the Beaten Path forum, due to the recent rule changes that now relax certain areas of the rules, such as going off topic, thus making the forum no longer necessary. We will be moving topics from there to where they would otherwise belong. Due to this transition, you will no longer be able to start new topics in that forum, but you can still post in topics that already exist there.

The possibility of a Let's Play forum is still under discussion. We will keep you guys up to date if we do make any further changes.

This was a good move considering Member Specific is more active than General Discussion. But Member Specific looks awkward where it's at it seems like it should be above General Discussion. Maybe it's just that I'm used to seeing it there but it's not a big deal at all.

Anyways I think this will work out a little bit better then it was, But I have to second what Daniel said. Maybe put "Member Specific" above General Discussion. Right now it seems really awkward.

I myself wasn't all that particular on the exact position of Member Specific, but I would think it would be awkward if General Discussion wasn't the first in line.

I think it'd look good above Computer Aid. But under General Discussion would be good as well.

Keep in mind that no matter where it goes, it's going to take some getting used to. Really, it would probably look somewhat awkward below General Discussion...We currently have the three main General forums displayed consecutively with the remaining forums simply following it. This gives the General category a nice clean and organized look. Moving Member Specific underneath General Discussion would break the currently present flow and make it would look rather...off. In addition, with Off the Beaten Path phasing out, Member Specific will essentially just be filling in its place, so I think it makes the most sense to keep it where it is right now. :O It's actually kind of perfect.

If it were directly underneath General Discussion, it would be less dramatic of a change, I would wager, and more in line with what it used to be.

Well, heck I didn't even think about how it would look with now Off the Beaten Path. Heck never-mind what I said It'll look just fine after Off the Beaten Path is gone.

So yeah Leave it where it is (I bet it'll look a lot better once Otbp is gone.)

Since Member Specific will likely become the new peoples' forum (it already was, but as a subcategory probably lost some views), I suggest it go at the bottom of the General category. The description ought to mention something about new people maybe introducing themselves there, more prominently than it does now. It just needs reworded, because what it already says is fine, if not a bit verbose.

It was in fact my rewording not too long ago, Bagel. Feel free to work on rewording it (not that you need my permission ). It took me a while to think of the right words myself, as it was the first mention in the description of it being a place for new members to introduce themselves, where as the prior wording didn't have that. So yeah, that can certainly be emphasized stronger.
