Alright... Here goes.

This will be my second full quest, and with any luck, will be MUCH better than my first. I wanted to create a simple yet complex quest, and this is what I came up with. There is a rumor about a great tower. Anyone who can reach the top of this tower will be granted unto them what lies there. The only problem is the dangers and puzzles within. Being an absolutely fearless man (or a complete fool) you have decided to take the challenge and conquer the tower.

The entire game is in the tower; you start at the entrance on the first floor. Each floor is like a separate dungeon. On each floor is at least one item, a map to help you navigate the area, and a boss key that will open the door to the next floor. On certain floors (basically all odd numbered ones) will be a custom boss; they should not be taken lightly. Every floor has some sort of trick to it that will be used to clear it. For example, on the second floor, bushes will be blocking some important pathways. Unfortunately, the candle you find there does not burn them. Instead, you will need to find the main tree. Once burned, the bushes, connected by their roots, will whither away.

There will be ten floors total, and five custom bosses. I'm not sure which items won't be used, but I do know that I won't use all of them. You start off with six hearts and 999 rupees. This is for the bow and arrows. You're going to use those a lot. I mean it. There are even silver rupees around just in case.

This quest uses the classic tile set, but I'm doing my best to use it to it's full potential, plus there are plenty of edited tiles and some tiles from newer games (torches from Link's Awakening.)

Here are some screenshots:

Floor 1
Get the boomerang.
Use this warp
to change from this
to this.
Block puzzle.
Just a lot of rocks and snakes.
It's the boss!
The fight continues.

Floor 2
Wallmaster!
How can I cross this?
Another block puzzle.
Light the torch.
Find these trees
and do this to them
so that these (and other) bushes
whither to nothing.

Floor 3 (This is where they start to get cool!)
Starting up.
Pools of lava here
and pools of water here.
Ghosts and fire.
You're going to need to do something with that torch...
Drained lava leaves fires behind.
Need a raft.
Yet another block puzzle.
BOSS!
He seems stronger when he's red.

Floor 4
Bats and blocks.
The ice is slowly melting...
Richard!
A well gaurded key.
I found a golden leaf!
Block puzzle... wait, are those red?
What's in the chest, and how do I get it?
Ahh! Tres Bien!

Floor 5 (I made the palette myself!)
Colorful, eh?
Spinny things from Ages/Seasons.
What does this have to say?
Lava, torches, blocks, key.
Mirrors!
I need four keys? FOUR?!?
This switch is bound to be important...
Of course.
BOSS: Smog!
It's getting kind of hard to see in here.

A raft-based boss? Nice. I can see this being a really good quest. Keep it up! icon_thumbsup.gif

This may be a Bug! When you die, you start in a gray screen.

Thanks, I know about this bug, and I think I can fix it. This only happens on the first floor, after you've used the warp. Just save instead of continuing, and you'll be just fine.

EDIT: Nevermind, fixed it!

Did you download the new version of the demo (version 2)? If you still have problems, like I said before, just save, and you will be fine. You end up in the same place if you were to continue anyway. Umm... has anyone made it past the first floor yet? Besides the continue bug on the first floor (which I thought I fixed, gonna have to check that...), I don't know of any other bugs... I think having other people play through the game will probebly yeild more bugs, which, while making the game, is a good thing. Whatever, I'm just gonna keep working at it. I'm having so much fun making this quest... On to floor five!

EDIT: You win. Updated the demo (again.) Hopefully it will work correctly this time. The problem had something to do with the initial Dmap, so if you carry your save file over to the updated demo, it probably still won't work, although it really wasn't a game impeeding bug to begin with. Hope the questing runs smoother now.
