My opinion, take it like a mini-pizza.

I don't believe in "good" or "evil", I believe in "existance". There is no right or wrong (outside of things with rules) but positions we are in make us identify things as good or bad relative to our position.

Humans ARE the only ones to blame for things that happen in the world today. I always believed that God would never step in for the sole fact there's free will, although there are cases that I believe he had prefabricated to happen.

Edit: Fixed a typo, and no, I'm not an existancialist :P

Proof.

Also, let's keep this topic as civil as possible, it can be discouraging for people who don't ordinarily post to see other's views flamed just for posting them.

I don't know what thread you've been reading, but this is one of the nicest and civil threads about religion in existence D:. FLAMING?? THERE IS NO FLAMING GOING ON YOU SON OF A *throws chair* ARGGHH!!!

AARON SMASH!!!!

Heh, sorry about that. I realize that you are just warning people for the future. Honestly, the best way to keep these threads under control is to put what would seem to be offensive comedy into it that make people laugh. Like I do icon_teehee.gif. I may seem unserious, but I am just trying to keep this thread open as long as possible XD.

TB, that's the point of faith, especially Christianity: it can't be proven. Christians must completely trust God that He is correct. It is a little hard to swallow, and hard to fathom, but science really has little to no business in the realm of faith; that's my beef with scientists. It cannot be proven that God does not exist (or exists), so they need to shut their mouths and get back to the global warming problem.

As for the question, God probably has the power to forgive the Devil, but Satan openly chose disdain against God, and he took it out on man. Man is Satan's tool of revenge against God. Besides, it is chronicled in Revelation that God and Christ will triumph over Satan in the end times. Satan will not and maybe even cannot change. I know it's not what some politically correct like to hear, but yes, there is a Hell where things are REALLY, REALLY bad. Satan does not care about us except to twist us to his purpose. At any rate, Satan has probably committed the unpardonable sin (which is that if one blasphemes against the Holy Spirit, they cannot be forgiven). Now this doesn't mean if you say "I hate the Holy Spirit" that you are doomed to hell forever. Many theologians are sure it means that one who has so hardened himself against Christ cannot possibly receive salvation through the Holy Spirit, the only way possible, and is therefore doomed to hell forever. Now I am sure Satan somewhere along the line has become so calloused against Christ that there really is no way he can be forgiven. He is the ultimate evil; so to answer your question, NO, I guess.

All it takes is one person saying "If you believe that, then you are [insert insult here]," to send things out of control.

I don't know if god can forgive satan but if he did and satan stopped being evil then the world would be a utopia there would be no evil we would all be nice and freindly to each other. There would be no robberies homocides or law breaking of any kind the only people who get the short end of the stick it lawyers because no law breakings=no law suits. icon_wink.gif

If a person opposes even the possibility of there being a God, then any evidence can be rationalized or explained away

I stopped reading right here... First of all, this flat out tells you "If your logical, or ready to apply facts, leave"... I'm sorry for appling facts to prove what is right, but I will use rationalizations, and *gasp* thought to explain away what isn't there, and WHY I think so.

QUOTE
No statements of, "You just have to believe."

Uh, actually, there is... Telling someone not to rationalize, is just as good as tellnig someone to believe, or have faith...

Sorry if that is off topic, but I'm just making a point...

More on topic... OMEG summed up my thoughts pretty well too... Thats what I mean... There is no controlling force, you see a situation from where ever you are as good or evil... It is subjective... just like religion, what you are willing to listen to, and accept as the truth...

Ok, I didn't look into that page quite enough... -_-

Here you go: A Practical Man's Proof of God, (second hit on Google actually).

Here is another one.

I'm going to say this now... I'm not giving in seeing as how you have a virtualy infinite supply of pages to link to, but I refuse to believe in God. I won't trust what isn't there, put faith into what isn't there, and so on...

God needs to earn my trust... He needs to show me that he exist...

So you can present as many pages as you want, but that won't change my mind, or prove me wrong. I'm not trying to change anybody, I am simply presenting the facts as I see them... Obviously, you feel insucure about your trust to God seeing as how you are trying so hard to prove me wrong... Well, your attempts are all in vain my friend, because I have chosen my path...

We are going way off topic here, but I'm almost done...

The question of good or evil is right here... Some people may think "Oh, he's evil, he doesn't believe in God!"... I don't care if you people think I'm evil, becuase I know I'm right...

Again, It depends were you stand, and what you want to believe... Unfortuanantly, one is fact, and one is a fairy tale... I choose to go with the presented facts, not some mystic story... If I wanted that, I'd play Zelda! Why is God making it so hard to trust him? I will go with what is givin to me...

Also, you mkay be wondering why "God had left my soul"... He has never done anything for me... He has never proven anything to me... Did he hlp my dying aunt? Did he help my parents when they almost split up? Did he help America when 9/11 happned? No! God has abondoned me, and there is no coming back. I choose to be logical...

I won't bore you and continue, becuase I think you know what I'm getting at here, so with that, I'm leaving this topic.

Goodbye people... You can continue to blow hot air at me if you want, but it will be in vain...

The argument on this page is the main reason I consider myself an agnostic. There's a few things science can't and almost certainly never will explain, such as the origins of the universe. The way I see it, something out there had to have started everything, probably a supernatural force. Based on that, you could say I believe in a god, but it's not the same god you or almost anyone else does.

And with that contributed, I'll duck out unless the flames start coming, in which case I'll have to snap on this guy.

Let's just clear something up here.. Satan was a Hebrew word for "accuser" or the "opposer".

Hell was taken from Hel.
Lucifer was originally the goddess of light, I may be wrong about this one, and was then seen as an angel who reported the misdeeds of humans to god. They later made him the same as Satan.

As for a female devil, I believe you would be speaking of Lilith. She was the original woman who was also made from sand, because of this she refused to be submissive to Adam and left the garden of Eden to live in a cave and she basically raised demons.. This may be wrong as well, as my sources for this one are.. odd.

"Satan--(Hebrew) adversary, opposite, accuser, Lord of fire, the inferno the south

Lucifer--(Roman) bringer of light, enlightenment, the air, the morning star, the east

Belial--(Hebrew) without a master, baseness of the earth, independence, the north

Leviathan--(Hebrew) the serpent out of the deeps, the sea, the west"
----------
It's pretty ironic that I know all of this, eh?

That's a great point there. o.o I mean, there's one thing that we KNOW to be a fact.

If you call on "God" to come down to allow him/her/it to verify its existance to you so you'll know for sure, ... ... nothing happens. icon_shrug.gif Is it because there IS no God? Is it because God knows that if it actually shows you of his existence you'll freak out majorly or something like that? ... Sure. Could be either. Or maybe it just doesn't think you're good enough. icon_razz.gif

You never know when you're being deceived. icon_razz.gif It's also in the nature of people to hang onto a belief and stick to it like glue.

What is a god but a creator D:? Possibly something deeper, my religion says so. And, when it comes to the end of the universe, I feel safe that I'll be on the right team :O.

Who's to say we're all believing/praying to the same God/god the whole time :O? Maybe he is sitting up where ever he is doing whatever he does and is thinking (if he thinks) "Heh, silly humans. Fighting eachother in the name of me, saying that the other belives in someone totally different from me :>. When will they learn :>?"

Thank you very much everyone.

The Devil is Lucifer who I mainly (but not always) call a Female.

Lucifer is Satan the worst known bad guy.

Assuming your a Christian...

I'm not religious at all, so I say no, becuase IMO, these characters don't even exist...

Agreed.

Why would someone even start a topic like this :/.
