You fill up your hearts based on post count. (and to risk sounding like I'm rent-a-modding, if you haven't already, you might want to check out the Forum Rules, not that you're doing anything wrong... yet. 
)
Anyways, I have the list on my Notepad in my User CP, let me go get it. Nevermind, I seem to have deleted it.
Anyways, your heart fills up a quarter of the way based on how many posts you have, and the title above the hearts changes as well. You'll get one-fourth of a heart once you pass 25 posts. You'll be able to rate site content once you have ten posts.
Once you reach 1,000 posts, you'll have three full hearts and be able to change the title to whatever you'd like.
Once you reach 5,000 posts, you fill up all the hearts and that's it. There's no special goal or anything, it just represents your post count.

Site Staff/Moderators/Administrators, on the other hand, have a different heart system which isn't affected by post count.

Yeah i just wondered what would happen, but it doesnt matter to me. But i get why its hearts rather than a mushroom.

ZC Developers also have one gold heart and have moderator capabilities in the ZC-related forums.
