Do you believe in superstition? Does your belly fill with fear in the mere mutter of the number 13?

Well, today has come and gone, and I haven't befallen any form of bad luck. What about you? Do you believe in luck? Does your life consist of many forms of "lucky" and "unlucky" occurances?

Whoa. Didn't even realize it. Usually, something falls over. Nothing, to my knowledge, fell today. *Hears expensive cabinet full of china crash into hardwood floor*

I don't believe in Friday the 13 is bad luck just cause the Knights of the Templar got executed on this day and there were 13 disciples with Jesus. icon_glare.gif

Ummm... correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't Jesus have twelve disciples?

My class was to graduate on Friday, the 13th of June next year, but they rescheduled it to May 22nd so we end up graduating before our classes are over.

I'm not that superstitious, though. Today felt like an average day.

Today was just like any other. I think superstition is a load of BS. No offense.

Quoted for truth. It was just really funny, because one friday the 13th, posters all around my teacher's room were falling all day... it was pretty funny.

Some say 12, others 13. I'm not really sure.

Those are the Twelve Apostles. That page you linked to is using the incorrect term. A disciple is simply a follower.

Quote from wikipedia:
"The 'Twelve Apostles were men that according to the Synoptic Gospels and Christian tradition, were chosen from among the disciples (students) of Jesus for a mission."

And on a less serious note: Meet Rufus, the thirteenth apostle:

Well, that was easy. Friday the 13th has come and gone, and nothing bad happened. icon_razz.gif I think these kinds of superstitious events go to our heads, and we think we've come across bad luck. icon_smile.gif Staying positive is the best way to conquer ANY day. icon_biggrin.gif

13 is a magical number.
Christianity hates magic because it hates everything that is more powerful. (Or thinks to be more powerful...)
Christianity had the power to manipulate people.
Christianiy made people believe that magic is evil.
13 is magical, so it was labeled as unlucky.

My sister born on 13th and so I sometimes call her witchy, and she likes it.
There are 13 magical base elements: fire, water, earth, air, wood, metal, light, dark, order, chaos, body, soul, blood. (I made it up myself studying middle age and ancient age arcane habits and writings)

So, when we talk about 13, we talk about magic, not bad luck.

But speaking about luck... Luck is when good thing happens by chance, and bad luck is when bad things happen by chance. (Yes, things are happening by chance.)
