Yeah, I could actually release it the way I want it right now, but I'd still like to get some feedback from regular members before doing so. I'm quite new to this, and haven't really been around this scene at all, so I want to be sure I'm not tapping into any "ugh, damn obnoxious newbie did it for the 1000th time" trends that regulars may hate.
I was hoping to release it mid-August because everybody's going back to school and work either this week or next week. But, I'd rather get things right than get them "on time," so I can give it a little while for feedback.
Still, it'll have been going on for 2 months by Sept 2nd, and that's more than enough time for me. I've already got other projects that have been lingering around for years. I don't need another one on top of that epic pile
Anyway, yeah there's a few Like Like rooms before the mirror shield becomes an option. They're meant to do exactly like you said, make people jump to attention and play it safe - usually before getting an important item in the next room. But again, the shield's an option (though a highly recommended one), and some people may save it for later given the side-dungeons have a significantly higher difficulty curve than any of the main ones. They each have a number of bosses in the way - though I'd like to think I managed to avoid spam since they come room-by-room rather than stockpiled all on top of each other. (Exception for the 3rd side-dungeon and final level, because you should be well equipped enough to deal with hordes by then.)
