I actually had to force myself to use more black outline than usual. BS style has black outlines around everything, and I wanted it to match. My DoR stuff intentionally moves toward softer outlines.
Thanks, the third one did turn out really well. But the last two were not much work at all. They are, in essence, not really animated. And the first bubble was just a quick overlay job. I can't really say that I did much that would count as "drawing" on that one.
Strictly speaking, I think the Fokka was my best accomplishment since I did the most drawing for it.

Bird knights are cool. I don't think we've seen them in any other Zelda game.
They'd be a natural choice for Skyward Sword. Aerolfos just aren't the same.
The closest thing to this enemy would be the birdlike wizzrobes in Wind Waker,
but they don't wear any armor.

I would've gotten this to you yesterday, but I was hit by the huge blackout.
EDIT: Oh, and look, the crest is animated to react when he slashes .

I must admit I'm chomping at the bit hoping you'll draw some Fokkerus soon (that would be those fire-spitting red birds in the Great Palace). Aside from bosses, that's one of the only enemies I haven't accounted for yet.

Acheman? Hmm, I hadn't even thought of including those. I wonder what I could come up with in just the enemy editor. Well, these look just right for Classic style graphics in ZC. I just might edit them into BS style as well.
But... c'mooooon... do a Fokkeru next...
(Fokkeru are those winged firebirds in the Great Palace, for those who didn't know)

I might make some small changes, but for the most part, that's what you'll see.

I haven't stylized the Acheman yet (not sure whether I want them in my quest), but I am done with the BS Doomknocker.
I might make some small changes, but for the most part, that's what you'll see.
I like it, but the south-facing sprite is so much whiter it looks like a different enemy.
Also, the eye slit is white in the side view, but black in the south-facing view.
EDIT: Maybe if you simply make the eye slit black in the side view?

Here's Fokkeru, complete with Nintendo's derpy nipples

1st Row: Standard
2nd Row: Firing
Since Fokkeru dances around so much, I tried alternating its feet every other tile.

Meh, I was afraid you'd say that. I'll see what I can do.
EDIT: Maybe if you simply make the eye slit black in the side view?
I have already edited the eye-slit to be grey in the south-facing sprites. If that doesn't do the trick, I can take your advice instead. I was trying to emulate your white eye slit because I feel your sprites do a good job of countering one of those things I can't "unsee" about the Doomknocker... you see his jaw? When I was a kid I always thought that was supposed to be a really low visor, like a welding mask. It wasn't until I saw your sprites that I realized it was supposed to be a giant "underbite" (well actually, it's an armor faceguard, but it still covers the jaw). I found some official concept artwork to confirm that, and yes, you definitely got it right.

Awesome! I will get to work BS-ifying these right away. ...That is, as soon as I get over the mental scarring caused by those SCANDALOUS nipple pixels. Oh noes.
As for the Fokkeru's quick "dancing," blackbishop can always mess around with the Fokkeru's animation speed in the enemy editor, I think. I haven't completely figured it out, but it's one of the available settings you can tweak.
P.S. - I opened up the Fokkeru sprites and zoomed in on them, and hey, they look really good. I was hoping for good things from this enemy, and you delivered. The Great Palace had some of the best looking enemies; I'll be happy to be able to carry that over to ZC.
Also, I have a feeling they will be right at home in BS. I'm not expecting to have to do much editing... I'll probably just slap a black outline on them, recolor them, and see if there's any way they could be expanded with another frame of animation. But I barely altered the Doomraddle's animation at all, soooo... we'll see!!
