I slipped up and somehow turned this grid looking thing on, and now I don't know how to turn it off.

I've tried all the letter keys, as well as number keys. No dice.

try pressing the key to the left of '1'. I'm quite certain it's that.

Uhm... the key to the left of '1' is '0', and brings up the first palette (0).

The grid turnoff is at the ETC menu, as Linkootsp said. I just saw it a few days ago.

On my keyboard the key to the left of the "1" key is "~/`" which is the right button to toggle on and off the grid.

CastChaos is Hungarian... maybe Hungarian keyboards have a different layout... anyway, the "tilde" or ~ key should do it.

Ah, so that's why I need to press "ö" in ZQuest to put a "0" somewhere and to bring up the first palette... Because "ö" is just right to "9", where "0" is at western keyboards... Don't ever get know how strange key combinations I need to press to produce things like '?' ':' '!' ' '(' and ')'...
