Okay, here's a screen:
(Yes, it's JPG, I'm working on a Link palette and don't want it stolen)
Anyway, see where those red lines are? The traps will not go past them! That means that the 4-way trap in the corner is very easy to avoid, and the horizontal trap in the center is all but useless. Does anyone else have a similar problem? I've already checked for any flags that may cause it, and there are none that would block the traps.

Floating traps and phantom placed traps and mean placed traps. I think you need to check them all. This makes the traps go over EVERYTHING except "No-fly" combos. So, place no fly combos where you want them to stop.
How do I know this? I had the same problem and I got the same advice. It works now.

The "Phantom Traps" rule was removed in 2.11. However, I did try the "Mean Traps" rule and the "Floating Traps" screen flag, which got them unstuck. Then, a "No Enemies" flag or combo cleared it up. Thanks., guys. It seems like my trap problems cleared up now.

It's hard to keep up with what _L_ does and changes, but I think the "floating traps" screen flag IS the phantom traps, I think he renamed it and moved it to individual screens instead of a quest rule.

Hmmm... just curious, but what does the "phantom traps" rule do anyway?

from the zquest.txt file
- Mean Placed Traps: Placed traps
will go all the way across the screen to hit Link.
- Phantom Placed Traps:
Placed traps will go through each other
(instead of bouncing off and reversing course).
- Multi-Dir Traps: NES-style traps only move in certain directions.
By checking this rule, the traps will move in all 4 directions.
Once checked, traps can be further modified by the "floating traps"
screen flag, which lets them go through blocks, as well as over water.
Without the "floating traps"flag, they go across water,
but not through blocks.
