This is my second completed LP. The lack of editing is a bit rough (but still very watchable). The quality improves as the videos go on. That said, I hope you guys will enjoy this one, I've wanted to do an LP of this forever, so it was a natural first pick for my first "long" game. 

About the Game:
Rayman 2 The Great Escape is one of the best 3D platform games ever made. Rayman 2 is the second installment in the Rayman franchise. It is the series' first 3D game, and was conceived by series creator, Michel Ancel with Ubi-Soft. Ancel was behind the series' reboot with Rayman Origins, and Rayman Legends as well, which are both stellar games, if you haven't checked them out. It was originally released for the Nintendo 64 in Fall, 1999, and saw a Windows PC version release as well when its North American version came out (it was a European release first). A Dreamcast version was made in 2000, and a trimmed down, but still awesome, PlayStation version was also made in 2000. PS wasn't as powerful as the N64's 3D hardware, in spite of the PSs' better sound, and storage capabilities so some levels are edited, removed, or shorter. I may play it in the future, but it will be a while. An enhanced remake was put out on PS2 in 2001, and the game has since been ported to the DS, 3DS, iOS, (which are all based on the N64/ PC/ DC version) and even the GameBoy Color (2D demake).

Author's Notes:
Rayman 2 is one of my all time favorite games. I play through it and collect all lums and cages. A few levels are replayed, and revisited in the recordings, but it is mostly a good 100% run and should be watched continuously. If you have not seen this game before, and have a few hours to kill, check it out. It is a gem of a platformer from a bygone era, and one of the last of its kind. You're in for a treat with this one, and if you are a fan of Rayman, or platformers in general, don't miss it!

I mention that this is my first LP in the video. This is half true. I started recording this first, but then I decided to play SMB, and ended up releasing that LP first. The levels are also played in order, with the exception of returning to the Sanctuary of Rock and Lava later to find the one missing lum, and again in the final stage. The recordings are broken up into segments, and don't exactly correlate with a new level each time. Some levels take several videos, while others are quite short.

Part 1
Here, our adventure begins in a world of dreams that has been invaded by a race of evil Robot Pirates bent on imprisoning the inhabitants, and mining the world for all it is worth. The Pirates, lead by admiral Razorbeard, are ruthless, and have begun to transform the happy dream world into a polluted, Pirate haven. They have shattered the Primordial Core of Energy at the heart of the World, and now, even our limbless hero has lost use of his powers granted by the fairies. Will he be able to escape? (Probably, since the game is called "The Great Escape"  )

As Rayman sits, prisoner on an alien ship, he waits for the end to come. Just then, his hapless frog-ish friend Globox is thrown into the cell with him. He brings with him a gift from the

Fairy, Ly. Can Rayman spring himself, and Globox from their confinement?

So pretty much ignore anything I say about sections. I had to take a call, and go take my friend to the airport, so this is a really short section. I was under the impression I was going to be editing these.

We can travel back to The Fairy Glade from here, but in this section, we play through all of The Echoing Caves. In spite of what I say at the end, we still go back to the Fairy Glade through th Echoing Caves in the next section

We go back to The Echoing Caves, and re-enter The Fairy Glade. The next level is in the next section.

This shows the end of the Top of the World from the previous video. We also enter the Sanctuary of Rock and Lava here! (I know, right? TWO Fire/ Earth/ Rock levels??) We don't play the Sanctuary though. We enter the Walk of Power instead! The real level is in the next section.

Part 27

First part of the Tomb of the Ancients. There is a super secret hidden lum in this level. It oddly does not increase your lum count, but it can still be collected. It's kind of weird, really. Razorbeard did eat a lum earlier, so perhaps this is where it went once he ate it, and it died? to a tomb? Kinda makes sense? I guess..?

This is the last proper level before the end! Here we go. The Iron Mountains. This is a weird level. But come on... What level hasn't been at least a little weird here? The level is finished in the next section.

With all 4 Masks, Rayman must destroy the Prison Ship! We enter the final stronghold of the pirates in the next episode!!

 

Part 31

Before we enter the final level, we do a walk of fame, and look at all the levels we've beaten. I miss some lums, and have to replay this final part, and ran into some technical difficulties! Yay, final levels. With that said, I kill myself a lot here, and miss lums!

And.. yes, we are missing 10 lums cause this is a continuation of my first playthrough of the level where I missed those lums.
