Yes. I'm sure many of you have heard that the FCC (****ing Coporate Cocks) is cracking down no censoring the Internet... They have already begun to target large sites like Newgrounds, and many other large sites like this.

This is pure infringement of the first amendment... I mean, if you put infringement in a jar, this is what it's solidified form would look like!

They can make no law infringing upon a person freedom of speech, press and religion/ creed...

Discuss?

Can't do anything about it. If the site is in the U.S. The fcc has the right to do it. =/

All this'll mean is that more and more sites will be moving to foriegn servers. I agree that this is infringement however, especially that they're cracking down on sites like Newgrounds, while many far worse sites (which shall remain unnamed) haven't even been touched. icon_mad.gif

Hmm... Newgrounds has links to pornography on it, correct? If it does, FCC might just be targeting sites that link to such material. There are sites, of course, that are far worse, but FCC might just be targeting sites they get complaints about (a lot of kids go to Newgrounds, and if it has porn on it, that could pose a problem).

NG doesn't have porn. (well some of they're flash movies might) but they have ratings. (everyone, teens, and mature) That should be enough.

Perhaps they removed it at some point. I think I recall there being links to porn sites on the left side of the page. icon_shrug.gif

Well, they can remove those ads.

Let's hope they do it before the fcc does

I find it quite pathetic how everybody is trying to get around the Bill of Rights, because everything I've seen is absolute bull****. I SAID BULSLHIT WHAT ARE YOU GONNA DO FCC.

We have no rights anymore.

I know, man. The Bill of Rights is our freedom. They take that away...expect a lot of death threats to come in the mail for them, especially from me.

That is a very good idea (Moving sites to foriegn servers).

I might serously make it my mission to e-mail the web masters of some of the big ones and suggest this... I'll tell all my "Gamer" friends at school too. Perhaps there is a way to get around these assed out policies... Loop-holes work for all icon_biggrin.gif

I think for once, I'm agreeing with you. It might not do much unless a lot of people follow you, like tens of thousands or maybe a tens of millions. If you're really planning on doing this, I suggest you contact as many of your friends as possible, and ask them to email the sites to get them to move to foreighn servers, and get them to tell as many of their friends as possible and to spread the word. That way, when the bombs drop, the sites that have been asked over a million times to move to a foreighn server will do so to prevent shut downs...or censorship that's not needed.

You're all going a bit too far. Although I am also sick and tired of the FCC, you have to understand that it's not as bad as you think. If you need proof of this, then look at China.. They've banned access to WikiMedia websites.. again! At least you get a choice in America. icon_unsettled.gif

That's good, the internet needs a way to censor stuff like that on websites. Forums use the *'s but something needed to be done about it on websites. It's just civilised and decent.
