Donkey Kong Country 3: Dixie Kong's Double Trouble




Why I chose this game:

I have a strong relationship with the DKC series in my childhood. I was simply in love with these games, and they completely defined Christmas for me. Though this game is considered one of the more obscure one in the series, there is no denying that this game is the most polished in the trilogy. I'm going to have a lot of fun revisiting this game.

Stream Details:

I am going to be using the MERRY, TUFST (stands for toughest), and HARDR (stands for harder) cheats and try to score 105%. Though I'll never be able to beat my old childhood record of 1:51 (something I'm not even going to attempt). I will try and see how well I do playing this game in it's most difficult setting. The Merry setting will give a more holiday theme to the game, which is exactly the point. The two other cheats will make the game significantly harder to allow players to see that rare 105%.

Description:

 

This is the first video where I set up the MERRY, HARDR, and TUFST cheats. MERRY gives my game a Christmas theme in the Bonus Levels while HARDR and TUFST make the game harder by removing half way barrels and dk barrels.

Approaching Kaos! Swiftly completed Blazing Bazukas and getting closer. Bazuka the Kremlin! He's puny, he's got a big gun. He gets his point across. Having difficulty completing Low-G Labyrinth, despite that, I love this place.

Backtracking to collect a few things I missed from earlier levels, than continued on. After completing Low-G Labyrinth, I finally defeated Kaos, he was so easy, but he ran away to fight another day.

Traveled to K3 on my awesome sounding ski-boat, I assisted with the sound effects gloriously (ya right!). After completing Krevice Kreepers, I take the worst snow ride of my life in Tearaway Toboggan... Since when has a toboggan looked like that anyways? Finally took my adventure to Barrel Drop Bounce.

Description:

Doing a little backtracking to collect things that I've missed in Tearaway Toboggan. Btw, where does this toboggan get it's energy from? My understanding of physics has been challenged. Once I got that Bonus Level that I missed, I took on Bleak, the laughing snowman. After defeating Bleak, I completed a trading sequence with a bunch of bears which lead me to getting one Banana Bird, and will help me get another one very soon.

Highlights:

• Snowball fight Bleak the Snowman. This snowball fight was all fun and games until somebody literally blew up.
• Apparently I made Blue's day with a birthday gift he didn't even want. lol

Did not have enough lives to be comfortable in Buzzer Barrage. I seemed to have lost them when I saved and quit. After some backtracking though to get some Bonus Coins. I collected all the Bonus Coins I needed in Cotton Top Cove and Mekanos.

Attempting Buzzer Barrage again after collecting a few lives from backtracking to Cotton Top Cove and Mekanos in the previous video. After completing Buzzer Barrage I proceeded for Kong-Fused Cliffs where after a few deaths and set backs I managed to complete the level and move on.

Finally! Rematch against Kaos, the pathetically easy super villain of the game. Though he was easily cast aside. The true villain was revealed. It's K.Rool, no shit! Actually, his new identity is Baron K .Roolenstein. After a short, but moderately easy battle, I defeat him and complete the game. All is left is Lost World. 

 

Highlights:

• Defeats Kaos. What a joke!
• True final boss is revealed!
• Defeats Baron K .Roolenstein, saved Donkey & Diddy,  and completes the game.
