I don't use "joke triforces" in my logos sorry

have some peer pressure and also it has a severe lack of multicolored ponies.

Ironfist, if you edited in a few ponies you would've pretty much embodied it. More so than Alsion, even.

@TMS While I like the idea of your mockup, there's just too much going on. It hurts my eyes icon_frown.gif

Shouldn't we just turn this into a Skyrim fansite?

I like Rambly's design a lot, but I'd prefer the color scheme to be green. The color green became the theme of PureZC to me.

Yeah, green feels pretty appropraite for PZC, but that's probably just because we're all familar with it. Still, it'd be easier to get familiar with a new layout if it took over some central themes from the "old" PZC.

Well, I also like green because it's a rather unusual color for websites. icon_shrug.gif So I think it would be nice to stick with that.

Green is also said to have calming qualities. Imagine how PZC drama would reach new peaks if the site was for example orange which has been found to fuel agressive behavior.

I think it goes without saying that green will remain in the new scheme. Although I feel it should be paired with other natural, earthy colors. Warmth =/= Aggression.

Yeah, I think if you guys actually did (bizarrely) end up basing the site's design off of mine, you should probably end up using green. I ended up making the main colors black/red because I was trying to differentiate my site from PureZC's--remember that this was supposed to be a completely different ZC site at first. So yeah.

I think I like Cukeman's idea about the main page looking like a subscreen.

^ Good idea or not, it wasn't my idea icon_wink.gif .

So I have been working on a logo and a color scheme.

Wild Bill said he was looking for something modern, and several posters have mentioned
"what ZC is all about". This got me thinking in the direction that ZC is a program for making
old-school 2D games, which is retro in nature. So I've been working on a retro/modern theme.
Which lead me to this pixelated Triforce symbol as part of a logo:

http://oi43.tinypic.com/ipt9hv.jpg

And, while I didn't touch the design of the layout, I did work on a color scheme, and play around with a title bar:

http://oi43.tinypic.com/24ee34k.jpg

(I included some mini-versions of pixelated triforces in the left column)

So, yes this is just a rough draft of one possible idea. If you like it, or can suggest additions or changes,
I could try doing some variations or something altogether different.

As for the words "PureZC" these are some of the better fonts I have found for "modern":
BlairMdITC TT
Kozuka Gothic Pr6N
Optima

And for "classic":
Charlemagne Std
Garamond

Do you have that in a Photoshop PSD? That'd be fun to slice up and port into CSS/XHTML.

(Also, whatever new layout we choose, it had better not use tables for layout, that's pure 1999 there...)

Would it be bothersome if I asked for a copy of it, then? I like where you're going, I feel like it's a good compromise between modern and functional--the problem with many of the suggested layouts is that they still look too "tabular" (as in, they still use tables for layout) and you could easily create an appropriate design without it looking as rigid. Therefore, I'd be taking a few artistic liberties with it... but I won't go absolutely nuts like I did with my original design pitch. icon_heh.gif
