Companion Script Update (1)


Okay so recently the companion script has become useable.
So far there is still bugs but I have uploaded 2 screens showing the wizzrobe companion and the warrior companion.
Note: Those sprites for the NPCs are tempary and will be improved.

The beta 3.0 will contain these companions but I don't want to release the beta until the script is completly working without any bugs. :D

A few notes on companions:
  • You will only be able to take 1 companion with you.
  • Companions show there HP in a bar above there health.
  • They will mostly be a helper in combat rather than being to OP.
  • But! It wont be a "Hold your hand" NPC.
  • If you keep our companion alive and manage to finish the game you will be able to see a unique story ending and be given a end-game reward.
So that about raps it up for this week.

Um.. companions? Sounds cool!
What exactly do they do? Are they intelligent or does the player control them?

Well when you start the game you are given the option to ask a warrior/ranger/wizzrobe to go along with you as you enter the dungeon.

They are AI smart so they wont need to be controlled by the player, they will fight along side the link and will assist in combat.

They also get stronger as you kill more monsters (yes they level up too!)

They follow the player and will try to get away from monsters if they are low on HP.

Each of the different followers have different attack/defence techniques. So choose the best one that suits you...

Although:

Followers/Companions drain your huner/thirst more and can set off traps before you wanted them to be.

But yeah thats about it.
I'm going to say what types of attacks each follower has yet. But give out more info on the release.

Wow, that is pretty cool! I might choose the ranger, even though we have not seen him yet ;)
Also, this quest looks like it will be one of the "Metroidvania" genre. Looking forward to it!

They are AI smart


Yeah, "smart". Heh.

They run towards the nearest enemy (except the ranger; she's too clever for that) and start shooting/swiping at it. If they're low on health, they'll just follow you and hope you lead them out of danger (unless someone can think of a better reaction to being low on health?). Fortunately, they make up for their limited intellect with unique defenses.
