I am all for the shark or fish enemies for a ship area.

Ship design also depends on the style of ship you are designing and that will factor your course of action for filling in a ship.

However i kinda worry how unusually wide that Ship map is, maybe just a bit thinner of an old time boat.

It can't be the Titanic's size right?

You could make it so you can see parts of the floor below if there is one. If it is not too hard that is.
