I'm with Scoot on this one. The graphics are a major issue for me with this one. However, then this happens and you have to wonder if there are QA practices at all at Squeenix anymore. :-/

Can we officially say that SE should hire Koh to rehash the sprites? :P Though it would be cool if Koh can rip a sprite from the game and make it 10 times better to teach SE a lesson.

Yes we can, they should totally hire him to fix the sprites! At least if the game had some better sprites maybe just maybe poeple would stop focusing on the sprites and just focus on the gameplay. :P

I agree. In fact, so far it's only the sprites that are the real eyesore in graphics category. I betcha nobody would complain about the engine as a whole if SE spiced up the character sprites. But after seeing DCE's article regarding a game-breaking glitch, that's just unacceptable for SE to release a game without thoroughly doing test runs prior to the game's release. I mean, what's so hard to not catch a bug like this?

Nobody has complaints about the gameplay. The gameplay is FF6, which is widely accepted as being pretty close the pinnacle of the ATB battle system. However, I can play it on the SNES, GBA, or PS1 and not have to deal with these graphics. The reason everyone is focused on them is because if you have to spend 60 hours staring at whatever the hell that is, it's going to be an issue. :P

Damn didn't see anything about that... really makes me thing that SE has really dropped the ball on this release I guess because they were porting the game they didn't plan much play testing, which is a big no no. I was going to pick this up because FF6... but with that bug I think I'll stay away until they get it fixed.

I'll only do it if they pay me handsomely.  I can use that money to fund my own game projects.  Fo sho.  To be fair, the outlines of the higher res sprites are fine.  The shading and lighting is where they fail, IMO.  Everything looks pillowy and flat, and there's certainly no colorshifting.
