I downloaded Zelda classic 2.10 to my Windows 7 laptop. But i can't even start the program
I tried the soulotion in this thread as well as many others.
Other things i've tried:
Run as administrator both with soulotions and without. Error message (look end of post)
Using Zlaunch with soulotions and without. Nothing happens...
I wonder... Do i have the wrong version of ZC for my OS?
it worked fine on my other computer which was XP. I don't have it anymore though.
I really want to use this again and i would be glad if there was anything i could do.
ERROR MESSAGE:

Try ZC 2.10.2. There's a link around here somewhere, lemme look.
EDIT: Here it is. Get 2.10.2 for windows and tell us what you get. Not really sure about that error. Maybe someone else could figure it out.

Pressed f1 to reduce speed and it seems normal so far.
I hope the same works for Zquest. Trying it out now...
EDIT: Tried zquest with and without soulotions and the same error is thrown.
Is there anything i can do?

It worked by opening it in Zlaunch!

It looks like that error is not part of ZC, but of Windows itself.
Look in this guide and tell us if that fixes it.
EDIT: Here's some more stuff about that error.

But, the problem seems really weird. Nothing workerd, until...
I put ZQ on window mode on startup. No error when i do that. Tried going full screen again and got error.
Still, the registry cleaner told me i had about 1000 errors. I don't have a credit card, so i can't buy it to fix the errors.
Thanks for helping anyway.

There's probably a better and free cleaner somewhere. That one might be telling you you have more than you have just to get you to buy it.
Here's a free one.
Or you could get *cough* torrent *cough* it if you do that kinda thing. Though that is not my suggestion, just get the free one.

I actually can't get 2.10.2 to work in fullscreen at all without it crashing. Only windowed works. Anyone know what this is about? I wanna be able to play 2.10 quests IN 2.10, but windowed kinda makes it more boring...
You could try running as administrator. What exactly happens when you go fullscreen?

256 colors
640x480 p screen resolution
Not sure if there is something else I had to do, but I can't recall whether or not I had to run it as administrator. I somehow fixed the slowness with a quest loading too, but I don't remember how I did.
I was able to get it to work in that build in full screen, no color problems, and it's a great player for both 1.92 and 2.10 quests. Plus it lacks the bugs well known in those versions. That is, if you're okay with enemies sometimes dropping clocks after they are killed. That is, clocks with time limits to them, rather than until you exit the screen.

Crashes instantly. =\
Nathaniel: Thanks, I didn't think of that. I'd tried to get the LI build but all the links I'd found were broken, didn't know the one in her sig still worked.

Works for me. Sephiroth's site is a very reliable one.
