It's probably obvious from the tone of this topic that I'm more or less ecstatic over this. It's high time civil rights marched forward. I'm a bit sad it had to come down to the courts, rather than the people, but ultimately, I'm just glad that homosexuals finally have equal standing under the law.

Though I'm not a US citizen, I gotta say, that's some really great news. It's about time same sex marriages took place all over the USA, and it seems the time has finally come for them.

This is actually really incredible news. I'm not homosexual or anything, but I found it extremely unfair that homosexuals didn't have equal standing under the law and I also didn't understand why homosexuals were viewed as inferior in general, but now that they do have equal rights, I can't be more happy. It really is high time for civil rights to march forward, and I'm glad that the U.S. government took what I truly believe to be a good step forward in that sense.

I've never quite understood why homosexuals, or really anybody who isn't white, Christian, male, etc. is seen as inferior by those who are. This is great news.

Even though I'm straight, I'm happy for those that are finally able to marry the one they love. This is the most productive thing this SCOTUS has done this term.

I think this is good news. People gotta stop worrying about the small stuff and focus on actual problems. Not just problems that the nutjobs define as problems.

It's a right that's been denied due to the system legislating morality for so long. People need to understand that prohibiting rights due to finding them morally objectionable makes us no worse than the extremists that want everywhere they live to be under Sharia law.
As a Christian, I'm still fine with the gay marriage ruling. It's not my place to tell people what they can't do.

This is one of the two political issues I care the most about. While LGBT rights still have a long way to go, especially in recognizing the T in the group, this is a huge step in the right direction, and I'm delighted.

This is definitely a leap forward. While there will certainly be resistance, it's good news. Marriage deserves to be a right for any two consenting adults.

No Nation in the world uses Sharia, they are just extremist political factions.

It's good news, and a really nice step forward. However, it does bother me that a lot of people do look at this as the end-all be-all for LGBT rights, when this sorta thing is bottom of the barrel compared to the fact that:
a.) Hate crimes are still committed regularly.
b.) A lot of LGBT children are abused and/or kicked out for coming out.
We've still got a long way to go, so hopefully people won't start losing steam and will still keep pushing for rights. But still. SO GONNA GET GAY MARRIED AND Y'ALL CAN'T DO NOTHIN' ABOOT IT.

No Scoot, don't! I felt ripples in the fabric of my heterosexual relationship at just the mention of your possible gay marriage. Please, you have the power to rip apart the very nature of relationships and marriage! Use this power responsibly!SO GONNA GET GAY MARRIED AND Y'ALL CAN'T DO NOTHIN' ABOOT IT.

Although it is now legal, I want to point out that the AG of Texas doesn't care.
I also want to stab into everyone's brain that Chris Christie is against it and don't vote for that lard when he runs for president.
