Some people are upset the starters are based on animals they already used.

 

Well, here's one they haven't made a Pokemon out of yet.

There are only so many Pokemon in the animal kingdom. Some people just like to complain. Personally, I've been wanting a Grass/Flying starter since Generation 3, and I think Rowlet is a creative execution of that, so the new set has me won over.

 

I'd very much like to see a dolphin Pokemon, though.

I know I'm using Litten!  That thing is epic looking.  xD

 

I wonder if it ultimately transforms into a Fire/Dark later?  (I mean it is red and black!)

Considering how much it looks like Purrloin (which is dark type), I'd say it's almost certain.

I'm a bit late, but I actually like these starters. I'm going to go Litten simply due to my Fire-type loyalty, but if I didn't have that I'd probably go Rowlet. Not saying Popplio is horrid, and something my friend said makes me think it might end up looking the coolest:

I really like Rowlet and Popplio is nice too, but don't see the hype for Litten.

 

Looks uninspired.

I think the Owl is cool, but I'm leaning towards the Cat, the Seal looks dopey to me. It'd be cool if the moon legendary had an ability/attack triggered when it gets shot with Solar Beam by a teammate, since moonlight is just reflected sunlight.
