If there is to be an advance classic set, it would be impossible without an advance classic Link. So, here's what I have (animated files only, for now), and I'm using originals for comparison. Classic is on Left, Advance on the Right.

the head's all out of whack. It doesn't work. The animation is terrible.

How would you suggest on improving it? I knew this not to be easy XD.

Upper Portiion is perfect but the bottom portion is just terrible. I suggest slimming him down a bit. His body looks extremely bulky. It looks like a fat Link with a small head.

It might break the whole Classic theme, but maybe it would look better with 4 frame (BS) animation.

The halves don't match. If you're going to make his head slimmer, do so for his lower half, too.

You should probably make a bigger-than-16-by-16 Link. The dithering is pretty bad, too.

Classic Link used a two-frame animation because of severe limitations of the NES cartridge. If you're going to make his head go up and down, you should complete the improvement by adding a "standing straight" tile and switching to BS style animation. It will be impossible to conform to the old animation without purposely giving up fluidity and detail.

Aside from the animation, though, the art looks good. icon_smile.gif I'm sure you can perfect this.

A good rule of thumb is to keep old versions for comparison's sake. Now its looking less like a classic-upgrade link, though.

The dithering in his hair doesn't look very good.

I think he looks a lot better. Less noticably classic though.

for the sake of continuity, you might want to take other measures too. Besides which, your advance classic Link looks like little more than some random custom Link, compared to all your other work with advance classic tiles.

i think if you gave him a shield, he would be sweet... but my only complaint is how it looks like hes wearing boxing gloves, and kinda has his hand on his hips? just shrink down those hands or give him a shield, and he'll look kinda like a 64 link (mabie blond up his hair a bit too, )
