Well, they only had 1 specific tile for isometric-y-ness in the GB ZElda games, and that was on Oracle of Ages. If you held out the Seed shooter to the bottom right, you would see it. Well, imagine Link with an Isometric look. The expression can only be described as O.O. So, why not?

It's an interesting concept. It'd be funny to see a Super Mario RPG-esque Zelda game like this icon_heh.gif

icon_biggrin.gif It's Zelda Tactics! Cool, but I dunno if it's very usable in ZC...

Wow... Ok this is interesting. This edit of the GB Link is actually noteworthy. I congratulate you icon_biggrin.gif

There are a few graphical messups though...

I really like those. They are simple and neat. Good job, but they seem kinda useless. icon_unsettled.gif

This is extremly good, if you use a tileset which has isometric tiles. I'm planning on making one of this kind, when I finish Lufia 4 Tileset. Good Idea!

Gotta realize, dlbrooks doesn't make anything with the intent of it getting into Zelda Classic. He works primarily with Game Maker

Those are pretty interesting. icon_smile.gif I don't think we've ever seen isometric Zelda gfx. I like the concept. icon_smile.gif

It would work like a normal tileset would, with isometric tiles instead. Link would use zelda 3 style movement too! Would be different and seem hard at first, but later it would get more and more natural!
I'm guessing that in 1 year, ZC will have more than one isometric tileset...

Using z3 style movement, you still only could have the 4 cardnal dirextions. No in betweens. It would look very unnatural.

But still, it would work... many games have done it this way... I am incapable of naming any now, but I know they have!

I was thinking... If they made a "Link faces all directions" quest rule, I could make a tileset with BS GB Link tile animation and add these, try my hardest to remake some of the original gb tiles into Isometric tiles, and maybe even throw in some Isometric/normal NPC's. Be aware though, that even if I finish this graphic set (this spritesheet), I may not make an Isometric game just yet. I back up that for 3 reasons:

1. I have yet to beef up my spritinging skills to the max (except for my Custom Link, but you know)

2. I DEFINITELY HAVE YET TO TRY AN ISOMETRIC GAME IN GM. (If I do sometime, it wil be grid-snapped, so I can get used to the isometric coding).

3. I also need to rework my tileseting skills, cause right now, I can sprite a lot better than I can tileset.
