Ok, we (Hylian Lemon & me) started this project several years ago, mostly just recoloring GB graphics and music to start out. Some months ago last year, we re-announced the project and continued working on it. After that, we had a problem because the file was lost with all the stuff on it (except a VERY old back-up on my flash drive), so we got set back far to the old version. Now we've come back, with A LOT more than we had to show last year, and we are taking every step to improve the game. We started improving the graphics, then I started improving the engine. It all worked out .

Controls
Z: Z-Button (Confirm, Select on File Selection)
X: X-Button (Cancel, Cancel on File Selection)
A: A-Button
S: Action-Button (Roll, Talk, etc.)
Enter: Open/Close Menu (Go past title screen)
Space: Will be for opening the maps when we get there

Story
Link is wandering through the forest outside Termina, trying to find his way back to Hyrule. It is late at night, and he thinks he sees lights up ahead. Heading through the trees, he is suddenly attacked by a dark shape.

"I'm impressed that you figured out where I was hiding. Still, there's nothing you can do about it; my plans are already in motion. Get out of here."

Just before he is knocked unconscious, Link catches a glimpse of his attacker's face. It is a shadowy version of his own. The next day, Link wakes up in a strange village, determined to find out what his dark clone is plotting.

hey can anyone upload this demo to a real site?
my fw blocks box.org or whatever it was, and wont let me connect
that i couldnt disable it, but its probably because box hosts malware ads
so yea, another site please
i really wanna try this out

it was very nice
love the rolling, but somethings bothering me about the throwing
and the destroy animation for bushes and pots
i also drowned forever, and had to stop the game :/
in the town, at the start (the river)

lol thanks, but there is way more to it than that, if you talk to a certain someone in town, the guards will let you go south

after you get the sword, you can chop down the dead trees to go south even more

yes yes, i could see that from the screenshots
going to play more obviously
just make notes of what i find especially the game hang up

EDIT: this game is amazing, obviously
you really have put alot into it!
but many of the features you have are unpolished, like lifting, jumping of cliffs and especially putting keys into doors
i really had trouble opening the door that leads to the sword, unless theres some other reason to it
anyways, really good so far! really good

btw i cheated myself past the guards :O

lol, how did you cheat past the guards?

anyway, I made the doors like the original GB, you have to push against it for awhile to unlock it. And the jumping off cliffs was made Oracle and LA style, La style for jumping down and oracle style for the rest of the directions .

yes but it was hard to figure out, because you had to push for so long
i tried and tried, until i just ended up pushing continously then it worked

btw you should make make the game pause when minimized
and the directions link has to be locked
ie. pressing up first locks him upwards etc.

oh the guards uh just go to the right of the thingies
instead of to the left where youll be denied going there

I'm going to throw this out, but the text looks kinda ugly. I'd recommend inverting the colors with a square-ish outline other than the rounded style.

Oh, and on the lag thing, is you bushes/flowers/tall grass/snags\pots sprite based? If it is, that's causing a big problem.

Very nice. The graphics are smooth and it has a professional edge... Hm. I'm considering making a Game Boy quest right now myself, so this gives me some ideas on what is possible. Keep up your good effort.
