I am immensely pleased to report that Guitar Hero II is one of the most addicting games I've played all year. (And I'm hooked on World Of Warcraft. ) Assuming you have the actual guitar controller, of course. There's this one particular song I can't stop playing. "Less Talk More Rokk" by Freezepop. There's also that crazy song, "Six," (Forgot who made it.) that everyone challenges everyone else to, even in easy mode, and just gets raped by it over and over again. I've got like, .. a 98% and a 94% on it on easy and medium, respectively, where everyone else gets ten points lower. (People who actually OWN the game.) I'm glad I have Stepmania to thank for that skill boost.
Yeah, seriously, if you have a PS2 or an XBox360, I highly suggest checking it out.
EDIT: Here is a video of someone pwning Less Talk More Rokk on Expert with 100%. Shows the basic gameplay and such.
EDIt2: And Here is a video of some poor soul doing Six on Expert. I pity him a little.

aww man! I love this game! I don't actually own it, but I finally got to play it for the first time a few weeks ago, and I was instantly hooked. Hell, I might go out and buy a PS2 for this.

Yes, I play this game. I have it on PS2 and Xbox 360. For PS2, I use a wireless Gibson Flying V controller, and on 360, I use the default Gibson Explorer. This game is awesome.
Up to hard mode, I can easily play. Extreme mode, those rythms that are moving up and down the rift of the guitar constantly, that's what makes some songs like Freebird, Woman, Six, and Thunderhorse pretty tough to play. But if you can get past those (unless they're constant like in Thunderhorse), it's smooth sailing pretty much.
My favorite songs to play are Thunderhorse by Dethklok, Hanger 18 by Megadeth, Trogdor by Strong Bad, The Light that Binds by Shadows Fall, and You Really Got Me by Van Halen. Laid to Rest by Lamb of God would be on there, but Guitar Hero 2 butchered it to no end. I'm sure Randy Blythe was pissed when he heard the vocals they did for this song.

Yeah, I have this game. It controlled my life for a few weeks until my bro took it with him to college. My favorite songs to play are Less Talk More Rokk, Message in a Bottle, and Trogdor.

I played this game when my friend came over. I was instantly addicted! I can only manage easy and a few songs on medium. My favorites from the few I played are: Killing in the Name, Jessica, Psychobilly Freakout, Misirlou and Trogdor . Freebird was good too but that song did a number on my fingers and I was playing it on easy! Curse you guitar solos...

I can't stand the Guitar Hero series. Why would you want to play a fake guitar when you can pick up the real thing and look twice as cool?

Because most of us are too lazy to learn how to play one.
Anyhow, I don't actually own Guitar Hero, or Guitar Hero 2, but a bunch of my friends do. I must say, it is AWESOME. They picked some really good songs, and... I dunno. Honestly, I have no clue why it's so addicting. It just... is.
