If you've used neither program, you don't have to vote, but I personally have used both and Fireworks would get my vote. It's easier to use and much, MUCH better at making web pics than Photoshop, whereas Photoshop is incredible at editing actual photos unlike Fireworks, though Photoshop can still conjure up some seriously kickass artwork if you knew how to abuse use it. Both are awesome.

But which is the crowd favorite? Let the battle of the image studios commence!

(My guess is that Photoshop is gonna win, even though I personally like Fireworks better. Call me the underdog. -__- )

P.S. By the way, a message to you n00blingers: I know better than to post cracks to these files on a public forum, so don't even ask or I'm sickin' Michael Jackson on yer arse. Don't ask for them in PMs either. Chances are if you're in high school you've at least USED one or the other, and that should suffice.

I'm quite happy with GIMP (or gimpshop on windows) and I can afford it too.

As a digital artist who's used about every art program out there, I have to say Photoshop is by far the most elite thing in the industry. It can be used for anything from digital paintings and airbrushings, to vectors and vexels, and is also perfect for photomanipulation. Nothing compares. =10/10 icon_smile.gif

Fireworks is fine for the price, but it has a much smaller selection of tools and such. Also, it's tools are of lower quality. It's much better than crappy Adobe Elements though. I'd give it a 4/10. icon_shrug.gif

Gimpshop is the only program I'd ever use to substitute Photoshop. It has most of the tools, though they're of lower quality. It's downside is that web templates made with it look like pure ****. Pure ****. They're all butchered up and difficult to align. Oh, and it cost $0. =7/10 icon_wink.gif

I own Photoshop CS3, btw. I only used Fireworks for it's 30-day trial.
