Usually yo, sup, or the classic hi. Sometimes on IRC, if I'm greeted with a welcome hug, I return it. Maybe.

Edit: deleted some of the posts content due to its irrelevancy.

I do that little bow and fist-palm-joining from that scene from Avatar where Aang goes to the Fire Nation school. I've had plenty of people do that in return, too.

It's variable! Depends on the situation and the person.
But if I had to choose, I'd take Hey, because it's multilingual.

Depends on who I'm talkin' to. If I'm talkin' to one of my guy friends (RL friends btw), I'll go "sup". But if I'm talking to a girl (RL friends still), I'll say "Hey". I actually say hey to all my Skype friends too...I'm treating them like girls, ain't I? xD

I like Howdy, but I don't have a favorite.  I don't really think about stuff like this.  To me it's just a way to be polite in a very simple way.

Hi

 That's cute.

WASSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSUP!?

That's how me and my circle of friends at school would greet each other in home class. It was hilarious, but our teacher disagreed. That's how we also got into detention. :P

I usually say "hi", "hey guys" or "hey" on IRC and Skype and to my irl friends. Usually to teachers at school it's either "Good morning" or "Good afternoon". That's it really lol

I like to inhale while I speak, so that my voice sounds a lot lower than normal, and then say "Greetings" in a lazy British accent.
