I'd probably ask at AGN before here. Does it help to just turn down your mouse sensitivity when you use ZQ?

Now, I think I recall having this problem before. On my lappy. It didn't help changing the mouse sensitivity either, but when I downloaded a newer build, it worked fine.

I do get lag on the later builds, yes. ZQuest is entirely unusable at anything over 320x200 resolution, and even pretty awful on that. Both Windowed, of course. On fullscreen it's just a total freeze, I Believe.

EDIT: I'm referring to my own computers of course.

I'm pretty sure I've been running it on 640x400 for a while now =S
I might be wrong though, cause I don't understand this kind of thing all too well.

If I'm not entirely mistaken, I think ShadowTiger was talking about his own computer, really... but you know, I'm dumb, so I might be wrong icon_biggrin.gif

Err, I'm certain that all of this can be avoided; you're having an acceration problem that is common with some high-end laptops. All you probably need to do is turn on Vsync.

Ok, first go to the Misc. tab and find Options..., click there, and find Vsync, which may be the first tab depending on the ZQ version you have. Turn it on, restart ZQ, and see if your problems go away.

(If you want to know, Vsync controls the rate files are uploaded into the RAM. Older computers have slower clock speeds and smaller RAM sizes, so on a computer that is eight or nine years old, you may want to turn Vsync off.)

NO! WRONG! It's 640x480. icon_razz.gif

The reason the mouse moves uber-fast is because ZQ only recognizes the pointer in the first 320x240 space in the upper-left corner. It doesn't do that in large mode (which looks stupid in the older versions) or in the new builds.

Calm down, there's no need to shoot me...

I doubled the values that ST put cause I've been running ZQuest in 2x windowed mode.

I wasn't trying to be fierce, but it's pretty hard to show sarcasm in just text. I left out the smiley. icon_razz.gif

You can't do anything about the mouse speed except get a newer build. It's just a design flaw you'll have to live with.
