Hey guys, my name is Mases Hagopian and I am a webmaster of a Legend of Zelda website known as Zelda Dungeon http://www.zeldadungeon.net/

We have quite a large Zelda site, which we receive over 5000 unique visitors everyday. Recently I launched a brand new layout (the current layout) and with it, something known as the Zelda Dungeon Alliance. With the Alliance I am featuring some of the very unique Zelda sites that are on the net. Sites like Zelda Classic and PureZC are two of them. Every few weeks I'd hope to have an update from each of the Alliance sites and have it posted at Zelda Dungeon. For example, North Castle, a Zelda site that deals specifically with fan artwork and fan fiction. Every month when they update I make a corresponding update at Zelda Dungeon, explaining what North Castle has done, and usually include 5-6 nice pieces of fan artwork. This gives North Castle some deserving exposure, it gives the creators of the artwork some more exposure, and must importantly for me, it keeps Zelda Dungeon updated and gives a treat to our large fan base.

The original goal of including PureZC and Zelda Classic, was that each month I was planning on featuring a game from PureZC and/or Zelda Classic. Posting it on the home page of Zelda Dungeon. (Each Alliance site has its own posting button, just as North Castle was the most recent update on the site). Anyway, the reason for doing this Alliance was that it would give me time to focus on game content, while giving my fan base some very unique and interesting things to look at, without me doing much work at all.

I've come to realize this isn't very plausible for Zelda Classic and PureZC, because some of the fan games that are available are full blown Zelda titles, often with several dungeons/sidequests, etc... Far more than I am willing to put the time and effort to play, and then advertise at Zelda Dungeon. Thus, this is where 1 or 2 of you guys can hopefully come in. I'd assume Wild Bill would have no problem with me asking here.

What I'm looking for is to have 1 or 2 PureZC correspondents. Basically, each month or so, I'd like to have 1 update from PureZC, showcasing a specific game. I'd like somebody with great knowledge of the specific game to post it an update on it at Zelda Dungeon. Give it a quick analysis as well as any personal views on the title. Talk about the storyline briefly, the dungeons, the characters, etc... Just a few paragraphs. In addition to that, provide links to where my fans could get the game as well as how they can go about installing Zelda Classic and playing the games on Zelda Classic. A step by step tutorial so even the most unintelligent Zelda fan can experience Zelda Classic at its finest.

I think rather than trying to find somebody within my own staff or my community (just recently launched new forums), just doesn't seem effecient since they aren't knowledgeable on how ZC works. So I feel that asking around over here would be a far better option.

If you are interested in this opportunity, please shoot me a private message here at PureZC or just e-mail me at mases26@gmail.com. I think it is a great opportunity to give my fan base some more unique Zelda material, and give the makers of PureZC some more gamers to enjoy their great games.

Thanks

-Mases Hagopian, webmaster of Zelda DUngeon

Sounds interesting. There is a Featured Quest of the Month forum here. The people that run it might be interested.

And a note to Pure ZCers, who agrees that Hero of Dreams should be the first featured quest?

If you really want the cutting edge Zelda Classic stuff, you should recruit from AGN instead of here. Most of the members here don't know about any real original quests in the works besides Dance of Remembrance.

I wouldn't mind helping out with your site.
I've been around here since '04 and have seen and played my share of games made by the community.

There are a lot of games that could be shown but I'd like to show the games that really stand out such as like Russ mentioned, "Hero of Dreams" or Dark Flame Wolfs "Lost Isle".

Although working from the Good games to the Mediocre games is not such a good idea. I don't like the idea of a bias showcase of best to worst, it should be something like Good, Mediocre, Good, etc. Not all games fall under a Good, Mediocre, Bad rating, each game has its good points and its flaws.

I haven't played all the games on this website, I'm not an obsessed Zelda fan boy so it'd be good if there were two people, as you suggested.

Before you select anyone, you should talk to them via messenger instead of PM to get to know them better. IRC is always a good place to start if not a messenger of some sort.

[edit]
Not to rent-a-mod but lets not start a flame war Lemon. What you're essentially saying is that no one here on PureZC is good at making quests except for Radien which is a huge controversy statement. I for one feel my quest is pretty good, I also feel that there are a number of other quests that are in the works that are very nice looking.
Quests like The Hero of Dreams, Hidden Duality, Lost Isle, Links Birthday and many others are great quests.
Hence why they are all in the "Top Rated" section of the website.

Sounds like a cool idea, Mases. icon_smile.gif Personally, I'd be happy to see more of a link being forged (no, that was not an intentional pun) between ZC and the rest of the Zelda fangame community. We aren't hurting for people between PureZC and AGN, but a lot of Zelda fans who play fangames or write fanfiction don't know about ZC and just how interesting it is.

I agree, the people who run Featured Quest of the Month probably know about the widest variety of quests, just because that's the entire point of their project. It would intersect nicely with what you are trying to do.

Are we doing this thing in nominations? If so, I nominate rocksfan13. If not, forget I said anything. (Why him? He helps run FQotM... CastChaos does too but he needs to spend more time finishing Ballad of a Bloodline, making rocksfan a better choice. Plus his people skills are super, and a job like this requires some.)

Also, welcome to PZC, Mases! I know you're pretty much only here to ask for our alliance, but... well, stop by and post in the other forums, and you'll be sure to not only find friends and comfort among us, but it may improve your knowledge of the ZC community if that's what you're interested in. icon_wink.gif

I disagree only because HoD can be too difficult for some players, especially those new to ZC. Best introduce new players to a quest everyone can can enjoy. My nominee is Vargen's First Quest Improved.
